I used to have four pet green anoles and I had sand bedding for them. It's best to get the kind with calcium in it so that it won't hurt them if they swallow it.

We had a wild one come in through our door and have had her now for 10 months. She is housed in a terraium with 7 other tree frogs, which is a great idea. We use reptibark as the bedding. we also provide 2 airplants, can get at lowes, and a fake vine wrapped over jungle vine which is weaved through the cage. We use a corner bubbler. You have to mist the cage foten b/c they drink droplets off of leaves. Also provide a UVB basking light. Ours sit as close to the top of the cage as it can get to the light. We also cover the reptibark with moss, which you can buy as lowes or any petstore. This helps with humidity. I do not recommend soil for its super messy and most have fertilizers which is unhealthy. We do keep a small 5 gallon under tank heater under the bubbler to warm up the water which also adds to humidity. We have tried sand with previous anoles and found that they ingest it. Dont keep it in one of the critter keepers. They like to climb walls and those are just too small. Hope this helps!

I used the carpet stuff when I had anoles, and then put some little branches and a heated rock in there; they seemed to like that well enough.

I used to raise them I used a calcium sand that you can buy at just about any petstore. It's safer then sand because it has calcium in in that will help them grow and it better if them eat the sand.
