What type of juvenile snake is solid brown on top and has a white underneath? It is non-venomous (can tell by split scales on underneath tail end and shape of head)... and maybe 5 inches long. It was found in the Low Country of South Carolina while raking a yard... Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

and is there really such thing as "mating season"? I saw the movie Anaconda's (the hunt for red blood orchid). I was wondering if they really do get that BIG in size? like a dinosaur?

I have a ball python about 3 feet long and when I fed him last night, he acted like he was still hungry. I know the mouse we gave him was a little smaller than last week but should I feed him again, or should I wait until next week at the normal time?

We recently purchased a red ear hatchling who has an underdeveloped eye and doesnt use it. He just sits and basks all day. I have recently decided to try to feed him by hand but am unsure how to do this. when I pick him up, he open his mouth to which I put food in and then put him the water to gulp but he just lets to food go. Is there another way?

I need one for my bearded dragon.
I'd prefer something past 30 gallons.
5-10 gallons won't cut it @ all.
The poor guy looks funny in such a small cage.

I recieved two baby (1 inch diam.) red eared sliders for a gift. I couldn't turn them away. I have had them for 2 days and they have not eaten anything yet. I am so worried about them. What is a good food for them when they are so small? What is a good way to get them to eat? Should they be fed in or outside the tank?

My partner and I have a lot of experience between us with lizards, and are now thinking of adopting a rescue green iguana. I have heard that they are aggresive towards female's. Some say it is perfume, some say its when girls are on periods. The iguana i have seen is male. Does anyone have experience, or a FACTUAL website maybe????? Any answers appreciated!!!

My leopard gecko is 1 1/2 she was fairly underweight and unhealthy when i adopted her. Since she has been in my care she has gained quite a bit of weight and has been shedding an average of every week, for about 8 weeks now. The last couple sheds i have noticed her tail has gone down in size... She is still eating like a horse and I have been supplementing her diet with a few wax worms... Just wondering if anyone else has noticed weight loss with shedding... She also has a bit if a sore on her nose, it is dry and scabbed... so i don't think it is sinus related... what do you think? We don't have a specialized herp vet in my town, so taking her to the vet here may be useless...

We got our corn snake one week ago. Four days later she struck out and hissed at my son. We fed her that evening and I wondered whether it would have been hunger that made her do this or some other reason? We are not scared of her at all just curious.
