Its a female and from nose to base of the tail she is about 4.5 inches. I just dont know when to put her on medium sized crickets cause my first chameleon started them to early and she isnt around anymore and i have had this one for about 3 months and she is about 6 months old and i want to have for a long time. Also is there anything else i should start feeding her.

A good rule is to feed nothing that is larger than the space between an amials eyes (this may be more difficult to judge on a chameleon!). I'd still keep one that size on 1/2" crickets. And even though crickets are the most easy thing to feed, you want to make sure your chameleon is getting adequate nutrition by varying the diet. The easiest thing to do here is to vary what you're feeding the crickets before you give them to the chameleon. This link has a good method for gutloading: http://www.kingsnake.com/rockymountain/RMHPages/RMHveiled.htm.

Also, even though she may not be too interested yet, it's a good idea to offer her a leafy green every once in a while. If you use a dripper method for giving her water, you might place the leaf so that the water will drip onto it for her to get a drink. Eventually, she'll start nibbling some plant matter herself. Continue to dust crickets with calcium powder (no vitamin D3 if you have her under UVB - too much D3 will be toxic) and a multivitamin powder.

The general for bearded dragons is crix no bigger than the space between their eyes. I'm not sure if it applies to chameleon however. Otherwise, I dont know to much about them, but mybe some super/meal worms, silkworms, ect.

Hoped that helped a bit, sorry.

look at her head; the general rule of thumb is "never feed them anything bigger than the space between their eyes" 4 inches SVL should be big enough to eat medium. It takes her more than a couple bites to get it down, it is too big. Get a couple and see how she does.

IT IS CORRECT THAT U SHOULD NOT FEED FOOD ITEMS LARGER THAN THE GAP BETWEEN THE EYES EVEN THO CHAMELEONS CAN EAT LARGE FOOD ITEMS IN COMPARISON TO THEIR BODIES.
HOWEVER, KEEP OFF ANT MEAL WORMS TILL SHE HAS ALMOST REACHED MATURITY, THE BOTTLE TO DIGEST THE EXO SKELETON........ WHICH IS A BAD THING.

The rule of thumb is that the size of the prey should be about half the size of the head of your animal.
