I want a horse to ride, but I have no idea what to get. I do not want a pony or any of that, but a real big horse. I have hardly ever ridden a horse, but I could get lessons. So what kind of horse do I get?

I have two pet mice that from some reason i think that they are escaping from their cage and they go back in their cage by themselves. the reason i think this is happening is because my couches have been torn up. you can see their teeth marks on them. I am just amazed on how they could get out cause there is no holes in the cage and why would they get back in the cage. we dont have wild rats or anything. we never have had any. so i dont know. i have a CRITTERTRAIL cage. its one of those three level ones. has anyone esle expierenced this also? any ideas how they could of escaped and get back in?

There seems to be a problem with the Pet category of Yahoo Answers. People are mistakenly asking questions that should only be directed at a vet. I can only assume people have trouble recognising an emergency. So, here are the circumstances under which you should NOT waste your time on Yahoo Answers..

-if your pet appears to be in any pain
- if your animal is vomiting/has severe diarrhoea
-if your pet refuses to eat or drink
-if your animal is in labour or is pregnant and hasn't been checked by a vet
-if you have ANY question about newborn animals

Here are circumstances where use of Yahoo Answers for Pets is appropriate:
- if you are interested in people's opinions
-if you want ideas for naming pets
-any general NON-MEDICAL query
-if you need emotional support
If there you suspect there is anything wrong with your pet - don't wait. Vets are trained for a long time to help you, and on here you don't know WHO is answering, so how can you possibly trust their advice???

I live in a very illiterate town in South Texas with a population of about 200 people. These people are very "ill" in the head, they spit their "tabacca" all over the school hall ways ect. HERES THE PROBLEM: Since its such a small town, there are the usual, stray cats and dogs that roam around and DONT bother anyone ect. But these people take those poor animals to a back road and torture and kill them them bring their bodies back to the school to "show off" How do I turn these people in if the animals dont belong to them?? Is there anyway I can get some shelter to come pick up the 30 something dogs and take them to safety?? Im serious about this!! What should I do?? SERIOUS PEOPLE ONLY PLEASE!!

My friend insists his future bulldog be named after a drug or one of its effects. I know it sounds stupid, but he "insists."

He has absolutely no taste in names, either. He wanted "Weedo" and "Stoney" which are really lame names...I tried convincing him to use "Rocky", "Ecstasy", "Drugs", "Stardust"...He just doesn't want to be convinced! Nor does he want to be convinced not to use druggish names...

I have a 1.5 year old female rat. Over the last week I have noticed traces of blood in her house/bedding. Im not sure where it is coming from - she looks healthy, is eating, drinking and playing as normal. Her eyes, nose, mouth, ears and bum area all look clean? I will clean her cage again tomorrow and if I notice more over the weekend I will take her to the vets. Does anyone know what this could be??

My friend [and follower] really wants a guinea pig. I think it's only because I have one. I personally do not think she understands the responsability of a pet, and I've told her mulitple times that guinea pigs take a lot of work. She says that she's going to keep it in her bedroom, and that she will never take it out of the cage because her mom won't let her. She's told me other things that make me believe she won't provide the proper care for it, but how am I supposed to tell her this without her taking it the wrong way? I've tried to talk her out of it many times but it's never worked. I really don't want an animal to suffer just because she want to be like me, and I don't know how to explain it to her. Help me pleeeaaase!

my 2 year old dwarf hamster woke up with a wet tail!!!!.he has NEVER GOTTEN SICK
its really weird.
well here's what happened yesterday...
he slept all day like always. when me and my mom got home, we bought him an addition to his cage so he'll have more room. after that we gave him 1/4 of a pineapples small animal yogurt treats(from critter love) after that we bought him to another treat. crispi hamster waffles with chlorophy(dunno what that means)
then we took his picture with a flash.
after that, my mom put my syrian hamster together with my dwarf and the dwarf just followed the syrian licking him(i guess he was in heat) and after that, we put both hamsters in their different cages.
well thats what happened and this noon he woke up with a wet tail.
how many things did I do wrong???
well besides that, we cant take him to the vet!!! because my mom works and she isin't spending the night with me for two days (im 14) and no busses is there a way to make him better at home?

we use dry food, but what if the next batch of "whatever" is in the dry food. do any of you make your pet food? have you made changes because of the latest incident? do you think it'd be bad to give dog's table scraps now?
