Tonight one of my 3 dogs chased 10 deer down to our back fence. When my husband heard him whining, he charged down there and scared them off the dog.
Well, in the mean-time my little dashound Squirt was going to the bathroom up by the house,my husband turned around because he heard something and it was a deer that ran all the way back up to the house to stomp my dog.
She has a hoof gash right on her side by the shoulder about 2" long and it's split right open. Not very deep, but how can I treat it as my vet didn't want to see her tonight..Yes,I am changing vets.I have heard superglue, tylenol.I want to know something that you have used, and it works.

Ok, I'm asking this in the pet section since I figure us pet owners are usually the one's that have run in's with these little monsters lol.

I was on a trail I walk almost everyday. But recently got a new dog & since he is not leashed trained yet walked in the more grassy "doggie lane" lol. Came home and found ticks ALL over me...big one's and little one's. Never knew you could pick up that many!!!!

Anyway, I ended up with what I thought was a seriously itchy mosquito bite, that became the size of a half a golf ball. Tonight I noticed a red ring going around it (uh oh). My sister flipped out when I told her about it and said I need to get on antibiotics right away.

Soooo....is she right? I mean I know alot of people who live on farms out here and get ticks on them.....they'd be in the poor house if they ran to the doc's everytime they got bit lol. But the red ring does worry me a bit.

I've done all the research possible on sugar gliders, be it online or from books. I'm getting a pair tomorrow. I was just wondering if any owners could give me any adive, any advice at all, or tell me their experiance with these animals. Also, please don't bother telling me they smell bad. I'm sick of these responses about small animals. The only reason any animal smells bad is because the owners lack of care and neglecting to change them.

I will be the one looking after it as I always have with pets. I had a rabbit which he bought me for Christmas and I did everything for her. I once asked him to feed her while i was away overnight and I came home and she didn't even have any water! She went missing over a month ago so I already have everything for a guinea pig. I understand a parent saying no to their child for a pet, but can a husband say no to his wife about a pet?

Do you think your dog is aware of what's going on? That there's more going on than immediate impulse, need, and reaction? What about when dogs are just idly sitting there, what's going on in their head? It can't be nothing...

I have been breeding rabbit for 3 years now, and have raise 11 litters, i breed for show, breeding and pets. I do not do it for the money, since there is no money is breeding, and all my rabbits are well fed and cared for. I do sell the babies for money, and try to cover feed costs with the money i make on the babies i sell, but I'm not in this for the money, and most breeders aren't either, alot of breeders breed for show. so i ask again why are so many people against breeders?

About a week ago in overton nevada I was speaking with an animal control officer about my dog {who had gotten loose], and she stated that approximately 8 months ago there was a law passed REQUIRING all dogs to be neutered. She did state that there were exemptions for show/registered animals. As she did not want to cite me for this I have no reason not to believe her, however my friends do not believe its true when I tell them.I'm wondering if anybody knows where i can find the "printable proof" for this?

I just got a Chilean Rose tarantula, so i had to move it into a bigger cage, but i didn't know how to pick it up. This made it harder to get him(or her) in there. I am also a little nervous. I would be a lot less scared if i just picked it up once. How should i do this? and how can you tell its a boy or girl?

She got hit by car. Has broken leg, fractured pelvis, and had surgery to repair dislocated hip. All rear end injuries. Bill so far is just over 1 thousand dollars. Yes, $1,000. I love my Misty with all my being and went the surgery route to give her the best chance I could. Now, four days after surgery, broken leg is numb to pain up to the break. She can urinate, but hasn't moved bowels yet. But, she hasn't eaten much either.. We will care for her at home once she is stable. I know she won't eat because I'm not there. Family members other than myself can give her food, but she will wait till I get home to eat. So, I think this MAY be the problem. (Hoping) Also, she is so well house-broken she won't "go" on her bed. I want some honest ideas on things to do. No mean remarks, she ran out the door with me and into the busy highway. She bolted, is a better way to say it. She wasn't allowed to ever run loose. She is a yellow lab so is big. I want her home and she wants to come home.

i know people who abuse dogs everyday. this guy across the street uses a technique called "tough love" on his dog. he wants to make it touch instead of a panzy. he hits the dog everyday a few times a day he only lets it eat when he thinks it should eat he lets it sleep when he says it should sleep and if it disobeys him he hits it with a belt. i always see the dog scarred sometimes even bloodied. but we don't say anything no neigbhor ever complained. we don't think it's our business what he does to his dogs. he calls it "tough love" and he is says it's working. he has a very behaved golden retriever. those are smart dogs and it is scared of him i think. but everyday he woops that dog and it sleeps outside even in the rain. is it wrong what he does? is "tough love" wrong? or it's not that bad?
