I will be the one looking after it as I always have with pets. I had a rabbit which he bought me for Christmas and I did everything for her. I once asked him to feed her while i was away overnight and I came home and she didn't even have any water! She went missing over a month ago so I already have everything for a guinea pig. I understand a parent saying no to their child for a pet, but can a husband say no to his wife about a pet?

It would be rude for him not to consider your needs. Ask him to think it over, and remind him of how responsible you were with the rabbit. If you are all set up, then there will be no big finicial problems. I can't see why not. Good luck

If my husband said he wanted to get a pet tarantula, I'd say No. If it's a problem with the animal itself, I can see it. Some people have an aversion to certain animals.

Maybe if you find out Why he says no guinea pig... there might be a real reason. If not... I think I'd suddenly go on a salad diet. You know, the kind where hubby gets lettuce for dinner every night.. it's good to all get healthy together you know.

That's just me though. A week of lettuce for dinner goes a long way towards getting a reasonable request.

Having a pet needs to be a family decision. Frankly, I am very concerned over his actions (or lack thereof) when you asked him to care for your rabbit and, based on what you have told us about your husband, I would be very worried about the well-being of any animal in your household. Hold off on the guinea pig until your husband demonstrates some maturity.

first to tell you the truth if your husband and you cant agree on saying yes or no or comprimising on something as little as a guinea pig i see no hope for you and second if he cant afford to left his finger to help with the water situation and now the rabbits been missing for a whole month i say no you both are incapable of raisng animals and you need to grow a back bone or you will get walked all over but i guess you know that other wise you would not be asking yahoo answers for help

Uh, you have bigger problems than asking your husband if you can have a pet. If he's not willing to help you out of love and respect for you, somethings wrong here. BTW, how could you lose a rabbit?

1. Stop giving husband water and go away overnight. Maybe he will be gone!
2. Get a proper cage for GP and place husband in it (with lock).
3. Then get yourself a GP

Haha, well, knowing me, my husband said "Wait a week, see if you still want one. Then you can get one, but I get to name it."

Repeat that times three.

And that is how Chuck, Norris, and Walker came to live with us. Good luck =)

Well, your husband and you have to come to some sort of agreement about this......and the rabbit disappearing is a little peculiar and suspicious if you ask me......hidden cameras, my friend. hidden cameras.
