why is it wrong to abuse animals?

i know people who abuse dogs everyday. this guy across the street uses a technique called "tough love" on his dog. he wants to make it touch instead of a panzy. he hits the dog everyday a few times a day he only lets it eat when he thinks it should eat he lets it sleep when he says it should sleep and if it disobeys him he hits it with a belt. i always see the dog scarred sometimes even bloodied. but we don't say anything no neigbhor ever complained. we don't think it's our business what he does to his dogs. he calls it "tough love" and he is says it's working. he has a very behaved golden retriever. those are smart dogs and it is scared of him i think. but everyday he woops that dog and it sleeps outside even in the rain. is it wrong what he does? is "tough love" wrong? or it's not that bad?

no, it's not my dog it's not my business i'm not reporting it. he doesn't have kids. the dog listens to him if he "abuses" it like you people say it's his problem. i don't see that as abuse i actually believe him and see his "tough love" thing work well.

Behaved out of free-will or behaved out of fear. A child would "behave" if given the same treatment. But we dont do that...why do it to dogs?

*laughs head off* OH MY GOSH! That is funny! Tough love? Tough love honey, but that is abuse and you should know it! If you see scars on that poor, pretty dog, then you better tell him off or go to the police! That is just unacceptable! That freak should be arrested for that kind of cruelty. It's very bad! It may not be your business, but how bad are you gonna feel when that dog dies? Guilty and sorry, I'm for sure. Report to the police and get that dog outta there!
How can you not report?! So what if he doesn't have kids, he could abuse other kids! Abusing to listen works well for everyone because they don't want to be abused. Tell him to try and give him some rewards when he's done something right or just lecture the dog when he does something bad! Please! I don't want this dog to suffer anymore! Who cares if it's not your business, it's gotta be someone's, because they have to do something! You're just as bad for not doing anything!

That guy has no idea what he is doing. Even loving dogs like golden retriever can turn viscious after having a owner like that. You should definitely report him to the police or the SPCA. They will likely take the dogs and put them in a loving and caring home. No animal deserves to be treated like the way they are. Those dogs aren't getting "toughed" up, there just geting to be nervous recks that think that nothing is good enough, and they will slip into depression. I truely hope that guys gets an agonizing accident to him self or something, that will stop his cruelness, I hate people like that.

whats wrong with you? Call your nearest animal shelter and police. That guy is committing animal cruelty and thats illegal. he'll be in jail for a long time. Animal abuse is the exact same thing as child abuse and it should be reported. The dog will be put up for adoption a have a better home in no time. You see that poor dog bloodied and u dont do anything.

I think you already know the answer to your question! Turn the dogs owner in to the dog warden. Just because nobody does anything to help this poor animal doesn't make his suffering any less abusive. As a matter of fact it is my belief that doing nothing is the same as participating in the abuse.!
We should protect and care for the helpless and weak.
Many children and pets die everyday because no one did anything to stop their abuse.

There's enough pain & suffering in the world without initiating more ourselves. Causing unnecessary pain to a living creature doesn't seem right & I can't think of any reason to justify it. Also, when we're indifferent to the suffering of other creatures, it's easy to become indifferent to the suffering of other humans as well. Most ppl in the USA not only eat animals, but often wear them too. The least we can do is minimize the physical & discomfort they must endure while they're living.

It's sad the way people look the other way! For every abuser you see there are ten more getting away with it! This is not the way to train animals!

That guy is lucky he does not live across from me. I assure you I would have him beat silly and I know just the people to do it. That is after I called the police and had the scumbag arrested. Why don't you act like a normal human being and call the police yourself.

OMG, i am in tears right now! :( This is so wrong! How could anyone do this? Think about this....... if you were that dog how would you feel? This is so wrong it doesn't matter if he isn't have kids if he is abusing his dog he doesn't deserve to have it!! You need to call the police to get this poor dog some help! People start by abusing animals, and if not stopped, it goes on, to abusing children, to killing someone. I went to school with 2 boys who threw their dog out in the road, in front of a car, they ended up killing an innocent man, by going to his work and shooting him for no reason. Report your neighbor!!

He should be locked up and beat everday he would not like it, get the dog and stael him and take him miles away and I am sure you will find a home for him thts not cool its not tough love its animal abuse totally.
