still breathing kinda funny. he's only breathing through his mouth and kinda fast like he's having trouble. and he's very cold. please help, i don't want to lose him.

Just so you guys know, while i was on here i was waiting for the vet to call me back. I called them before i got on. i was just hoping that someone on here could help me faster than he called me. he said that i did all that could be done and i checked for broken ribs per his instructions. there were none. he said it sounds like he was already sick w/ respiratory problems and more than likely that's why she did it. said to find give diluted syrup. did all that. said he probably wouldn't make it anyway. he passed away last night about 10 pm. i could not revive him again. I didn't need the sarcastic remarks, i needed help while i was waiting for the vet to call back. thanks you guys. he said that there wasn't really much more he could have done himself. i did keep him warm and all that. the vet said most likely he was already sick and wouldn't have made it no matter what we did.

If you have Kayro Syrup or Honey get a small amount quick mixed with warm water and give a tiny amount by a eye dropper. Or if you have Gator aide or sports drink even better. Get the baby warm place him inside your shirt. Be very careful with the fluid and make sure you only give a tiny amount every few minutes. You do not want to drown him. He needs electrolytes and natural sugars, he may be in shock. Try this now, if no improvement in the next few min. call your vet. Some times the mothers are inexperienced and do this by accident. Others believe that the natural instinct of the mother is when she sense's one is ill and will not make it or may make her others ill they lay on them to suffocate them and some times even eat them. If it gets better tonight with just the Gator Aide or Kayro Syrup. I would say go get a pet nurser and some Hartz Puppy Milk at any walmart and feed it ever 2-3 hours through the night. Maybe even the next 2 days before you give it back to the mother dog. Watch her close, she may do it again. Watch her close 2 for heavy breathing or acting ill. Any sign she is ill take them all in. TAKE HIM TO THE VET!!!!! It sounds like he has a broken rib or something to that extent. As for him being cold and breathing fast he is probably in pain (dogs hide pain) and in shock, which is very fatal if he is not stabilized and treated. Call your vet from your cell phone while on the way so they know to be prepared for the situation. If he is walking, try to keep him from straining himself too much until you have been told what is wrong. If he is not walking, place a blanket or towel inside a box with no lid and place him in there and keep him from moving as much as possible, but without using force as you don't want to hurt him more.

Is his tongue hanging out of his mouth? Try rubbing his throat, if that doesn't help take him to the vet's fast. I mean really fast, might have a problem with his lungs or something stuck in his air passages between his lungs and nose.

The pup might not make it anyway. Try and keep it warm and bring it to a vet. The mother may have killed it on purpose if she perceived it to be sick.

Call your local vet! keep the puppy warm if the mother won't (towel in your lap works great) Call your vet ask them what to do, which from my experience is bring it in.....But personally I hope you called the vet before you got on Yahoo.

If such a thing happened, I don't think it's wise for you to be on Yahoo Answers.
Wrap up the puppy in a blanket so it won't be cold anymore, and rush to the vet. I don't think you want to wait and see what may happen.

I actually work at a veterinary emergency hosptial. Your best bet is to get to your local veterinary emergency hospital now. Regardless of the weather, heat up your car, put the baby in a basket on the floor near the car's heat source and GO!

He is hyper ventalating. The cure for humans is a paper bag. The nose way might be obstructied. Call ur vet while cleaning the nose with a q-tip. Also see if the paper bag thing works, im not sure.

CALL VET!!!! keep towels and blankets on him HEAT him very softly give him air! mouth to mouth ,it might be gross but if u really love it grossness wont come between u 2

ya need to get him wrapped in a blanket, keep him warma dn go to the vet. if this puppy is really important. and u want to keep it alive. you gotta remember there is only so much you can do, sometimes your just need to let nature take over.
