Buy cracked corn. It comes in a big bag and my baby chickens and roosters eat it all the time.

he can also eat all the usual things you would give chickens, bread crumbs broken up biscuit etc. but this should never be used as a substitute for the proper chick crumb. has he learnt how to drink yet? if not show him how by dipping his beak in the water, not all the way up to his nostrils and then allow him to tip back his head and drink good luck you sound like you are doing a great job

Depending on the age of the chick:
8 weeks and younger - chick-starter,
after that you can introduce him to cracked corn and green grass/vegetables.
