I wanted a dog but food, shots, and other bills would be too much for me right now. So I want a small pet that can go in a tank like a lizard or fish.

I was looking at hermit crabs but they make a noise that I could possibly find annoying since the aquarium will be in my room. I also have an interest in animals that will eat live food but I'm not really interested in rodents or something I'd have to take to a vet.
I know there are those fish that are like sharks? Do they eat other fish? I love watching animals hunting and eating prey on the discovery channel which is why I'm fascinated with this. I dont mind purshasing an aquarium to house the pet, as long as after that, caring for it will be cheap.

Its not necessary but if you know about how much the pet(s) you mention are worth, that'd be nice but totally isnt necessary. Totally capable of continuing research on pets that seem interesting! Thanks.

at the whole poisoned pet food situation? I'm to the point of being afraid to feed my pets anything canned, even if it's not on the recall list. Did you know this Menu foods co. knew something was wrong at least a month before they finally alerted the public? They've been way too slow in coming up with answers! They still won't say how rat poison ended up in the wheat gluten. And why are they importing wheat from China, anyway? What can I feel safe feeding my pets? And did they even think of the consequences of a toddler accidently ingesting some of this poisoned food? Here is everyone's chance to weigh in on this subject. I know that I'm mad as h*ll!

She made her nest last night and was pulling hair. After she was done having them I moved them all out of the nest and made sure they were all alive and doing ok. I did the same thing this morning and there were still only 5. She was still pulling hair all day today. (Non Stop) This afternoon I checked in the hut and 3 of them were out of the nest. Therefore I checked on the others in the nest and there were 3 more. And I returned the other 3 back to the nest. Is it possible that she had 5 last night about 9 PM and 1 later on today around 3 PM?

There are so many things to get rid of flys but i thought i heard about one that they can eat so even while on the trails the flys will not bother my horse bacause fly spray never seems to work well at all. so if you know of any that would be a great help.

I got a hamster for Christmas, a little over two years ago..would have been three this Christmas..anyways...how long are they supposed to live? We are considering buying a property in an area which has a lot of horse properties (ours wont be one of them, though with work we could establish stables etc). We have 3 daughters 10 years old and 2 toddlers, they have never ridden. I can ride but have never owned a horse or participated in eg equestrian activities. If we wanted to get our girls involved with horses, how do we start? Can they learn to ride without owning a horse? How do we stable a horse on someone elses property, aprox how much to do so? How much minimum flat land is needed to run 1-2 horses on a property? What are the problems with sloping land and horses? How exxy are vet fees, and can we get people to help us train the horse and the kids? What else do we need to consider before getting 'in to' horses? Advice, opinions?

Hey. I need to do an 8th grade animal testing persuasive paper. Please answer these to the best of your ability:

-96% of animal testing is cosmetics. How is this testing cruel? It's just makeup, not some horrendous pill. Why is it considered inhumane?

-How many animals died last year from animal testing and if I could see which species are used that would be great.

-What are the alternatives to animal testing? Are they more or less expensive?

-Has there ever been a case where animals where tested, given the OK, the product was released, and people died/were injured/ poisoned becuase they reacted differently than animals?

If you are for animal testing, throw as many questions at me as you can think of. I want to be prepared. If you are against it answer the arguments and theses questions.

Just reminding you this is an 8th grade level assignment, and some writing "OmG I Am AgAiNsT iT JuSt LiKe U!!11!! GiMmE ThE Pts LoL xD" will obviously not get 10 points.
