Having a pet rock is very passé. Gravel is trés chic.

I would prefer a rock myself....callme old fashioned. There may be a book on gravel as a pet on Amazon.....just be careful notto overfeed as fat gravel could be mistaken for small rocks.

You might think that gravel makes a better pet than a cat or a jack russell; but have you thought how much you'll look like Paris Hilton with your pet in your handbag? Careful now.

I prefer dogs and rabbits. If you are going for a cheap pet and don't have the time to spend on one then yes, a pet rock would be the best. Good luck with that .

its very passive and can get lost easily it has a tendency to explore the inside of a hover if your not careful so watch out for that it should be a good companion to the pet rock good luck lol

Oh yeah.....You can have a whole fish bowl of it and leave it alone for days. Clean up is easy also,just knock the dust off it every now and then. It can be kept in your room because it doesn't make noise and wake mom an dad up. AND it comes in colors...How cute.....

Get one with a hole in it, or make a hole (as long as the rock isn't too big) and put it on a string and hang it around your neck. That way it is always with you and you won't lose it.

What about sand? It does not take a lot of looking after and eats very little.
