I would love to have a salt water tank, because the fish are so exotic, and such. I am getting paid today, and i have no idea how much, but at least $20. I already have $3, and my birthday is on the 28th of july, and i always get money from relatives.Anyway, I've heard that saltwater tanks are hard to have, and very expensive to keep. I really don't need a huge one, i would like one to go in our kitchen,or in our media room, which is like a bonus room. Maybe 10gallons to 20gallons is really all I need. My dad let's me get all the fish i want, because when i get fish, it takes my mind off of begging him for a cat or dog, lol. I want about 6 or 7 fish. i was hoping to do a nemo theme. With all the fish from "finding nemo". But I will most likely start out with 2 or 3. I don't know really anything about saltwater tanks, and I will do lots of search on it. Can you guys give me some information on them, and tell me what i need to know?

i had one which attached itself to my fish and grazed off their scales, terrifying them, as they couldnt get it off or swim away
must have been the mucus on the scales. i wouldnt have another.

Right now I just feed him Hikari Betta Bio-Gold 3 times a day. Anyone else got suggestions on treats or supplements? Also a schedule would be nice.

I have two guppies and one black molly. About a week ago I began noticing that one of my guppies was getting alot bigger in size; ballooning up. I thought she was a female and pregnant at that; but there was no gravid spot at all, let alone one becoming bigger and darker. I thought that maybe she just didnt have one. I also began noticing that her body, around her anal fin, is bent. Yesterday night, upon even further notice, I noticed that "she" is actually a "he"! I found the gonopedium (correct spelling?). I know my other guppy is a boy because he's more brightly colored with a large and distinctly noticeable gonopedium, but now this one's a boy? Anyways, so I have a male guppy that looks pregnant, with a bent body. Is my guppy really a pregnant female with no gravid spot, or is it a male with some disease? I need to figure out what is going on here, I'm beginning to lose sleep. Anything helps, any advice, personal experience. But, please, especially experienced guppy owners. Thanks!

I've had my Oscar since Sunday and I've just been feeding it Hikari Gold cichlid pellets that I used to feed my Mbunas. What live food, aside from frozen, would be alright to feed my Oscar...and how often. =]

Thanks in advance.

I've a bowl and 3 goldfishes in them. initially i had a pair but one of them died. Anytime after that, i bought a single fish, it used to die. then i bought a pair and both of them are alive happily. So now, i have ended up with 3 goldfishes in a single bowl.

i've noticed that they all behave strangely after a few hours of changing the water. (i do it everyday, since i did not buy a filter for the bowl, it just seemed too much space wud be taken in a small bowl by a filter).

soon after (abt an hour or so), i change the water in the bowl, they all would come up to the surface and would pout on the surface of the water...like they are trying to use actual air for breathing. it looks something like this (-------v-------) assume v is fishes mouth pouting....

i'm not sure why they do that...can you guess???

initially i thought that they were asking for food, but they dont even touch food even when its floating on the water and wud avoid touching the food, while keep on pouting
