You are in the process of a bacterial bloom, and this is normal especially for new tanks. Bacteria that is essential to the biocycle that goes on in the tank is forming to oxidize the nitrogen compounds which are harmful to your fish is growing, and you need some time for it to establish to levels that are safe in your tank. Time is what you need. Please don't go getting a "sucker" fish otherwise known as a pleco, your tank is too small, and most common plecos grow to over 2 feet.

tanks need to build up a certain level of bacteria when they are initially set up. if this is a new tank you need to let it age and if it was an establilshed tank, you should save some of the old water when you clean it and use the old to get the good bacteria level to the point you need it. If all else fails there are several brands of water cleaners on the market to clear up cloudy water, many of them are sold at discount stores such as Wal-Mart and can save you money compared to going to the pet stores. The key to remember is patience when setting up a new tank check and recheck what you have done to assure everything is working properly.
hope this helps you!

This is normal for newly set up tanks. It's known as bacterial bloom, which is when benificial bacteria are suspended in the water of your tank. They'll either find their home in the gravel or in the filter. It should clear up in a couple of days.

I agree with the other answers completely, it will clear up on its own.

Most really good fish stores will test your water for you, and if it would make you feel better, find a store like this and have them test it. Around here its either really cheap or a free service they provide. Obviously i dont think that the "chain stores" will do this, but the smaller dedicated "mom and pop" type places are FULL of helpfullness and good information.

Well what kind of fish do you have? Also do you have a sucker fish? they help clean the glass because they eat algie off of the glass and any plants you may have in the tank. Also, do you have anything that keeps oxygen in the tank? It kinda looks like a mike but it blows lots of bubbles. Also, do you have SALT WATER fish? If not, there is no need for the salt they will possibly suffacate.

i dont know with regards to the scent yet when I wiped clean my fish tank large clean and the water became so blurry so i went to a puppy save and asked a worker and he mentioned that i wiped clean i too lots and there isn't any micro organism in it in any respect so he gave me this bottle that i think of places micro organism in the fish tank and in a on a similar time because it worked. i realize it sounds wierd and that i presumed it became wierd too regardless of the undeniable fact that it worked. so u would desire to circulate to a fish save and ask for some help. i'm hoping this enables u!

i think the tank should clear up soon, but just to be safe, check out if the filter's working and working properly.

Relax. and contact the pet shop if you feel the tank is getting cludier the second day.

If you have freshwater fish you do not need to put in salt unless they have ick or to make them relax. Your fish are at the great risk of dying because your tank is not cycled!!! Unless you have bettas. Try Accu-Clear
