I recently bought 10 goldfish that had been living together for the last yr from someone. I bought all their equipment, and all their food and conditioners/cleaners etc. I had to empty out the water to transport and move the fish into a bucket for 4-5 hours before I could set up the tank back home and put them in. I know the tank is cycling, so I understand the fish are stressed...but I noticed that if the lights are off in my room (I don't have any windows in it, since it's split with a friend and his side has the windows), the fish actually do happily swim around the tank. As soon as I turn on any light (even putting my cell phone close to the tank), they immediately sink to the bottom, huddle together and hide behind a plant. I know the fish can be stressed by a rapidly changing light levels as they do not have irises, but I left a low light on for 4 hours while at work today and when I came back they were STILL hiding and stressed. What is going on? I want them to live happy! HELP!

the tank from his house to my house. Its bigger then I expected. He said it was 150 gallons but its at least 180 gallons . The problem of moving it is it has 2 bulkheads at the bottom so its very hard to lift it up and carried it over the stand. We cant slide it because the bulkheads will break. Any advice on moving large aquariums. Do you guys know any products or equipments to lift it up. We tried puttin a crowbar and lifting up one side and stick the crowbar in to crank it up to much pressure would crack the glass.

My goldfish ate my other goldfishes tail all the way up to just before the dorsal fin and hes still lives! Can his tail grow back and will hes survive long this way? And is there a special way to feed him because I don't think he can swim properly to get to the food?

Um my aquarium seems to turn orange for some reason, i have 2 pletos(Cleaning Fishes), 1 Angel Fish, 2 Cichlids, 3 glass fish, 1 ghost black knifefish and 3 albino tiger barbs in a 13 gallon tank.

I was wondering if there is any chemicals that will change the color?

I have asked different fish owners about it and then say you should get a BIO wheel

I have 3 Strawberry Tetras, 2 Blue Jay Tetras, 5 Tiger Barbs, 2 Platys, 2 Guppies, 2 Painted Glass Fish, and 4 Gold Dust Mollies. Today I noticed small white salt-sized spots only on the fins of Strawberry and Blue Jay Tetras, particularly the Blue Jays. I know all a few things about White-Spot. The majority of the sites and books I read say that adding salt is one way to cure White-Spot and I want to know if adding salt in a FRESHWATER tank is O.k?

Note: My tank is a 21 gallon tank with a filter, heater, plastic plants and plastic decor. The temperature is 25 degrees. I already removed the Tetras from the tank and placed them in a hospital tank and added a dose of Aqua Plus.

I bought two and both have eggspots. They are in a 55 gallon tank with lots of rocks and some plants with four Labidochromis caeruleus. The yellow guys hide all the time. The peacocks swim all over and seem to be getting along. I think the eggspots means they're both males and I'm worried they will eventually attack each other. If that is the case can I buy like four female peacocks or is that too many fish for the tank?
