Male and female bettas should only be housed together when you are actively attempting to breed them. At all other times them should be separate.

i would not possibility it. The male can get very territorial and aggressive. additionally, 2 Betta's in a 5 gallon is overstocking. i might separate them. Get yet another 5 gallon for one in all them. good success, and need this facilitates.

I've done it with no problems. Many experts advise to only keep them together when they're in breeding mood. If you keep 1 male and 2 or3 females with hiding places and plants,it should be all right. Watch for signs of aggressive behavior, just in case.

Unless you want baby betas, or dead fish, I would keep them apart no matter how large your tank is. If you want to breed your betas, you should never keep the female or male together when you see fry because they will eat their own babies. Hope this helps!

I think so, but you usually can't find female Bettas in regular fish stores, the pretty ones are the males.

Yes you can, though make sure you have plenty of foliage and hiding places in the tank, and make sure it's a large one, otherwise they will chase and harm each other.

Some couples never get on, and will always fight, so keep an eye on them.

Nope - he will eventually want to breed and she won't, then he will attack her and maybe kill her. She will need places to hide and enough room to run.
