One concern, you have many fish who get fairly large. Oscars grow really fast, and dempseys and puffers can be VERY aggressive. You're over stocking your tank! By the way, the green spotted puffers need to have snails no bigger than their eye to eat, its more than a diet, the shells of the snails help file the beak of the puffer. If the beak isn't filed it will eventually grow thru the top of his mouth and he won't be able to eat and thus die. They also are not completely freshwater fish, eventually they will need brackishwater. For this many fish you need several hundered gallons of water. My balas are 9+ inches. There is a rule that says you need one gallon per inch of fish. Keep in mind this is full growth legnth, however, if you follow this you'll need to clean the tank weekly. You really should have 3+ gallons per inch, however I don't expect anyone to follow this rule. However if you have these, consider live plants to get rid of amonia in the water, as well as a pleco to get rid of excess food or waste. If you have $40 on hand a gold nugget pleco is good because it gets a quarter of the size of your general pleco (6 inches)

Sorry but that way, way over loaded. 1 Oscar would just about max out a 55 gallon, the bala sharks will significantly out grow a 55 as will the Rainbow shark and the sailfin pleco. The 2 Jacks would be ok in the tank, or 3-4 firemouths.

Oscar grow to 1 foot, and Jack Dempseys grow to 10 inches. and puffers are really brackish/marine and won't do well in a freshwater aquarium. Bala sharks grow to 9 inches, rainbow sharks grow to 6 inches, and the pleco grows to 16 inches... so let's calculate it... ( minus the puffer )
Oscars: 12"x3=36"...
Jack Dempseys: 10"x2=20"...
Bala Sharks: 9"x6"=56"...
Rainbow Shark: 6"x1=6"
Marbled Sailfin Pleco: 16"x1=16"
now... 36
+20
56
16
6= 134" so a 134 gallon aquarium... good luck :^D

but...you could get 1 oscar, 2 jack dempseys, 1 marble finned pleco, and 1 bala shark.

Well every one so far has one thing right, too many fish for the tank. You do need to add up their final length. 55gallon tanks=55 inches of fish or less. Plus the Oscars will end up eating most of the other fish. Any reputable fish store(NOT WALMART or anything) will be happy to guide you in what fish can go with each other. Good luck and great job for asking first before buying them. Your already off to a good start as a fish owner.

fish won't work for long. Jacks are territorial and oscars curious - sharks will be between bout snacks. Jacks will try to lay claim to a portion of the tank and oscars won't back down when push comes to shove. Not a good mix of personalities. In addition Oscars will pretty much need all the room for them selves they get pretty big.

Wow, 4 is such a short time? and its not a saltwater tank? Did you also check the temperature? Best advice is start from scratch, clean the tank, let the environment run for a day without any fish, don't add more than one fish at one time, leave them in there bag in the tank for 15mins to get used to the temperature and reduces stress. Hope that helps.
