I have 6 serpae tetra in a 120 gallon with other fish. I noticed last night that one of the tetras belly is absolutely huge, close to marble size round. None of the fish seem unhealthy in the tank and I know females tend to be fatter looking then the males, but I want to ask anyway just in case. Could she have eggs or be sick or is she just a fat tetra? I've had them for about 6 weeks now.

I've had him for a little over a week now, and I never see him eat. I bought shrimp pellets but even the catfish wouldn't touch them. Then I bought him some frog pellets, but doesn't seem interested in those either. I guess he's eating something or else he'd be dead by now.

Maybe moderate a forum someplace else? Maybe they already have? I know they know plenty. I probably know as much, but in no way have the writing skills or organization skills to write a book or even moderate a forum.
This is a great Q&A place, but a limited format. Forums are a great place to chat. Where can one find this caliber of poster in forums? I find a lot of petty flame wars in forums, whether it is for my hobbies or my work. This is a different situation. These people are an asset to Y! Answers.

What accessories are best to put in a goldfishes fish tank to keep them entertained? I have plants but nothing else. Is that enough? Do they like hiding in toy shipwrecks etc?

So, I just brought home my new betta, he has a 5 gallon tank all for himself, I conditioned the water, make the fish get used to the new temp, he is going to have heated water since it is cold, the water he was in at the petshop was considerably colder, I waited 40 minutes, put him in the new water and he is just swimming and swimming and swimming back and forth, up and down and sometimes he seems to be in kind of a rush to get somewhere... Is this fish dying? What are the signs of a dying fish?

the water is clean. I was careful not to put him into shock, he's been fed, and he's not flaring up, just swimming around constantly hugging the tank. He's in a 1 gallon tank. A bigger one isn't an option at the moment (I just upgraded him to this). He acted the same in a 1/2 gallon as well. I'm hoping he's just hyper, but I've never had a fish before, so I thought I'd check.

I just bought my female betta and she seems pretty healthy and happy in her new tank with her new friends (3 guppies and an algae eater) but she has some weird white fuzz on her back... could that just be some kind of dirt or should I be worried?

I'm a college student with Mollys and I left for mid-term break. I had recently changed the water and left a vacation feeder for when I was gone. Well, my roommate, who left after me, sent me a message today telling me that my fish had babies on either monday or tuesday. I can't get back into the dorm to seperate them untill noon on sunday. It's killing me, does anyone know if I'm going to be able to see the baby fish?

For my south american fish (mainly my rams and tetras) I keep them in blackwater conditions because that is the type of water they come from in the wild. I started out with big pieces of driftwood years ago for putting tannins in the water. Those have been in the water so long that they have run out of tannins. I have used blackwater chemicals bought at the store, but these cost a lot of money when you have lots of tanks. I've heard about using oak leaves, but leaves of any kind are impossible to come by this time of year. So while brainstorming I came up with the idea of using tea bags. My only worry of course is the caffeine that tea contains. This is one thing I can not find any information online about the topic.

Would tea have any negative effects on the fish?
