Use a cheap styrofoam cooler and worm bedding from the sporting goods section of Walmart. It has feeding suggestions on the back as well as long term care and cultivation instructions. It's great stuff!

Worms will eat just about anything. Make a good nest out of shredded paper and some potting soil for them in a large container like an old cooler and then add wet garbage from your kitchen, such as vegetable and fruit scrapes and coffee grounds. No meat or bones though.

They also like coffee grounds too, make sure the grounds are not HOT and just mixed them in with some soil.
