I got them at petco, I did everything they told me to do, I wake up this morning both fish are dead and I feel like a murderer.

I don't want to kill more fish, is there a fish that can survive even a fish-murderer like me???.

OK- we acquired "Sparkle" at a school carnival a year and a half ago and she has gotten quite large! I know I need a bigger tank but am not sure what size. Also, I am concerned about the floor tanks as I have 2 rambunctous labs! My husband keeps saying to donate her(?) to a pond but I love her~ even if she is a fish! Any recommendations? Also, she doesn't seem lonely but I keep reading they are very social- should I invest in a buddy? The last buddy she had- also acquired at the school carmival but killed off by DH (long story)- didn't seem to like her and just kinda floated above her so she couldn't swim around. She was actually more active after Dash died. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I was told by the pet store to feed my new needle nose fish frozen shrimp brine. I have tried that and frozen bloodworms. He likes them but he is soooo shy that the other fish eat it all up before he does. How can I get him to eat? The frozen brine does not stay a float for him long enough.

changing tank over from the south american chiclids to the african variety which requires a higher ph level. Is my rope fish going to be able to adjust to the higher ph levels required for this transition?

I had a bacteria bloom 2 days ago and used some API Accu-
Clear to clear up the water yesterday(worked great). But it made my one oto catfish turn a ghostly white and the other much lighter than normal. A betta who is also in the tank wasn't really active like he normally is. I checked on them this morning and they looked normal again.

Could this be from the Accu-Clear and the bacteria sticking to them?

We go fishing in the summer, last year my youngest caught his first fish, it was and is a pumpkinseed bluegill, very pretty.
newayz, he is fed every day. Sometimes we buy minnows b/c that's what they eat in the wild. He is in a 30 gallon tank and we take good care of him. I'm just wondering if there would be any law against keeping a wild panfish as a pet when you have no plans to release it or eat it. We couldn't just throw him in he yard when we got home ya'know. He was the only fish that made the ride home w/o dying. PS the other fish that did not make it were fileted and frozen . Yes it's an odd question to put in the pet section but i am just curious

I saw a similar question about a beta, this is a black goldfish type. Will the same suggestions work for him? He is still eating but I know this can't be good.

I have pearl scales, black moores and a few gold fish, and i usually house them in a 6 foot tank.
i have recently moved house and had to transport my fish in a 70 litre storage container.
I have the filter and air stones hooked up to the storage container... but today i noticed my pearlscales have red blood spots on their body.
I did a PH test and it was a little alkaline, so i neutralised it.
Will my fish be ok and the blood spots go away soon?
Any suggestions on how I can keep my fish healthy while they have to live in this container (it may be a while) would be helpful
Thanks.
