Kissing Gouramis will do best in a group with at least four. The Kissing Gourami is a fine fish to be kept in a community tank with small to large companions. Kissing Gouramis are often seen in aquariums with bigger Tetras and Plecostomus. Good tank mates are all Barbs, larger Danios, Tetras, Corydoras, Botia, Livebearers, Angelfish, White Clouds, all Rainbows, a school of Clown Loaches, or a school of Bala Sharks. When they get older keep only with fish their own size.
You also need a large tank with robust plants and plenty of open swimming space. If hungry, the kissing gourami may suck at the scales of large, slow-moving fish.

when you go to look at the fish see what area of the tank they occupy most(top-middle-etc) you can put other gouramis- zebra danios- ruby barbs- I have seen tiger barbs with them also, but they are more aggressive at times- most tetras will be ok as well-(you should have a larger tank with these size fish- don't overcrowd or they will start fighting for territories) when introducing new fish- move items in the tank around first this will mess up who owned what and stop most fighting, but like anything else , they will be individuals and some just do not get along- trade em in! the fancy ones- like painted glass fish are injected with a dye and will fade over time, but do ad a splash of color- and do not forget you can put in a fancy color scavenger(cat fish) just be careful-some grow very large and eat smaller fish- bala sharks and five fin sharks are really cool too- don't add to many at once or your tanks water ph and nitrites can be thrown off-- have fun!

the only subject u might have is with the neon's as they are somewhat lots smaller than the gourmis and the gourmis are aggressive and could probable nips a number of them to dying .... im sorry. Edit seem he stated to no longer tell him his tank is over crowded this makes me think of no person study questions yet me. seem in a 50 gallon tank if u advert 2 kissing gouramis at 5 inchs of length the danio's might get nipped yet could be ok. The neon's are extra advantageous than in all risk going to be fish nutrition for the gourami's something of your backside feeding fish would be superb and the 5 inch fish wont be putting around the backside too lots.
