I just bought a whisper 20 fish tank filter and its being loud as hell? Anyt one know whats wrong with it and how to fix it?

hi, I got a little gold fish and he got a nice bowl and food and we always change his water he gotna friend and since it his tail is starting to turn black from the point to his tail and this black is growing more why?, he seems really active and eat well lately. thank u for ur help.

This is a question I'm making so all the EXPERIENCED betta keepers can make a lit of some of the common betta myths and why they are wrong.

To start this off, I wanted to provide some pictures of betta habitats (feel free to expand). Notice, that although the water is shallow, it is a HUGE area, which is important because it allows the water to be much more stable than a small, shallow bowl, and also the betta has room to swim.

Also, keep in mind when answering: bettas do not live in ALL rice paddies. Obviously if they are a man made terraced system, it is probably not a betta habitat. They have to get there in the first place, tehy don't just appear magicaly because it's a rice field.

i have a fish that is mostly white but its fins and head are gold but i don't know if its a gold fish because its not all gold can anyone give me some good sites or does anyone know anything about fish?? i don't know what kind it is and i think that it might be pregnant cause its huge. but do fish even get pregnant? i dun no i need help thanks to anyone who does help i appreciate it!

I have had my beta fish for about two weeks. His tank has been next to a window and it is pretty cold outside here. I feed his everyday and have cleaned his tank twice a week. He has been very letargic the past couple of days and doesnt seem to be eating. He is still alive but is floating at the top of his tank kinda on his side. What can I do to make him better??

I have 2 mollies i think its a male and a female (one is larger than the other) they are in a mixed tank with 2 angelfish, 2 loaches, 2 kois, 3 fantail goldfish, i goldfish, 2 redtail sharks and 2 swordtails. my tank is 103 cm in lenght, 30 cm in width and 63 cm in height

I just bought 1 chromie, and its my first fish. The guy at the petstore said they are schoolers but I just needed him for the bacteria. He is doing good and I really like the fish. What should I do about numbers. I have a 30 gallon that I plan on putting two clown fish with a few inverts.I want to make the chromie more comfortable so should I buy more of them? If so, how many more to still have room for a few more fish? thanks

This morning when feeding my fish (4 guppies; 3f 1m; 3 neon tetras) I noticed one of my females wasn't coming up to eat so I looked for her and found her, I thought she was dead and stuck to the filter but when I looked closer I realized she was stuck IN the filter and still alive (just the back half of her) so I recued her and she's alive and has eaten since but now her tail fin looks all pointed and 'dead'/hanging down. Should I wait it out or should I put her out of her misery?

My gold gouramis are not swimming upright like a normal fish but migrating onto their sides the way a flounder does when its eyes migrate and it becomes a flat fish, what's up with that?

I have a 10 gallon tank, which is empty at the moment. I want to get a Male betta and a couple of mollies, (i have read that these are compatible) but i was also considering a couple of coolie loaches..can anyone tell me if this would work or suggest any other options for tankmates for the betta?

my boyfriend keeps tropical fish but just has never had a betta before so we are at a bit of a loss other than "no fin nippers or fish with long fins"

55 gal tank, cycling 1 year, 35 lb live rock, crushed coral, anemone, 2 shrimp, starfish, and 4 crabs. Everything is happy except the snails. temp and salinity are ok, nitrate is a tiny bit high. The snails are barely alive, and dont "work" at all. Do they need some special chemical to be happy ? I have one giant snail and 4 smaller snails. none of them are doing very well!

I believe my hermit crab is molting, but the hole it dug to go underground was bigger one day then it was the last, so I think it has come back up which I've heard is a bad thing. It's in a corner where it can see through and I'm afraid that the light might be affecting it. Is it affecting it, and if it is what should I do?
