There is a white bump at te base of my female platy's tail. I tried ick trestment for 3 days, the bump got bigger. Now what?

I assume it's on the tail and not on the body of the fish and I will also assume it's only on one side of the fish. In that case the most likely answer is a bacteria infection. Try treating for 7-10 days with Furanace or Marycn and see if it improves. If not post another question with a few more details or drop me a line and we'll see what we can do.
