my favorite fish is:

The Fridmani, a.k.a. Orchid Dottyback, is a stunning and colorful fish with its bright violet color and flowing fins. These small fish have a slender body that allows them to jet in and out of rockwork at a fast pace. In nature, they will stay in their hole waiting for passing food. These fish are hard to find in local shops as they hail from the Red Sea and are found at deep depths. The Fridmani offered at Saltwaterfish.com is aquacultured and does exceptionally well in the home aquarium. They are perfect for reef tanks and accept most fish foods. Only one should be kept per tank.

The family of Dottybacks are well known for their elusive nature. These fish tend to stay within their crevice or cave until it is time to feed. Their color is usually quite dramatic and they are capable of changing their sex. When eggs are laid the males are known to pick up the eggs with their mouths in order to keep them aerated.

Size: 2-3 inches
Care Level: Easy
Temperament: Peaceful
Diet: Pellet, Flake, Brine
Origin: Aquacultured
Acclimation Time: 2+ hours
Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallons
Coral Safe: Yes
Invertebrate Safe: Monitor with shrimp

I have had many, triggers, clown, damsels, tangs but the best one by far is the hawk. They swim and land on rocks and other objects looking you straight in the eye. When you come home after being gone he will dance and land making sure you've noticed him. They have huge personality and are funny. The Red hawk will cost a bit more but really beautiful fish.

Bangaii cardinalfish - these are peaceful, pretty (for a black and white fish), sexually dimorphic (you can tell males from females), and if you get a pair, they're likely to breed in your tank. The species is a mouth brooder and the male picks up the eggs after the female lays them, keeps them in his mouth till they hatch, and a few days after - so he doesn't eat for about 23 days (for those of you who worry about leaving your fish over a weekend!). http://www.marinedepotlive.com/banggai-cardinal---pterapogon-kauderni-fish--cardinals.html, http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=82

I also like longnose hawkfish. They don't have a swim bladder, so spend most of their time on a "perch" resting and looking for food. They learn to recognize their feeder and will swim up to the glass to meet you (and to see if they're getting fed). These are territorial, so only one to a tank (regardless of what the website says!). http://www.marinedepotlive.com/longnose-hawkfish---oxycirrhites-typus-fish--hawkfish.html , http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=199

Also, scissortail gobies - I just like the body shape! And they can be kept in a school. Because of similarity in body shape, these probably shouldn't be kept with the long nose hawk. http://www.marinedepotlive.com/scissortail-goby---ptereleotris-evides-fish--gobies.html, http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=205

ADDITION: I added a second website to all those above - better pics in the new ones. Also, see if these are something like the invert you were asking about the other day: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nudibranch
