Dwarf gouramis have up to 800 eggs. How many make it alive?

I sure dont want 800 fish!!!!!!!!

After I have 24-36 fish I want to keep some but thats too much!!!!! What would I do with the rest? And when the male protects the eggs will he kill guppies?

At best 100 or so. Usually a typical spawn and survival rate with good culling (removing deformed or otherwise undesirable fish) will leave you about 2-3 dozen.
