I have a 1/2 gallon tank and i wanna get 2-3 guppies or 2-3 female betta??? Which would be better???

I've heard stories of bettas outliving most other fish. They are also very pretty and low-up keep.
PS--only the MALES fight with themselves and mirrors. Females do well together!

Average Life span of Guppies are 1 yr, Betta - 3 yrs. Guppies can be keep in more number than betta. Unless your tank is big enough and your females are of the same size, they may fight and kill the weaker ones.
So dear, it's your call.

In a 1/2 gallon tank you can't successfully keep ANY fish, not only is it just too small but you can't filter it or heat it either. If you would like to keep either of them then I suggest getting yourself a 10 gallon tank, walmart has kits for around $30. And before you actually buy the fish do a little research to learn what the fish need and about cycling a tank.

female beta have color but short fins- male beta have long flowing fins- you can only have one or the other- as they will kill each other- guppies get along fine with other guppies but not with betas- I personally had a 1/2 gal with one male beta 2 neon's and a Sm coridora cat fish- male beta will get along with another fish that is not aggressive or have flowing fins- guppies get along with any other passive fish- so... they are both pretty- but you must choose one or the other--

Get the guppies. Beta fish like to kill each other just if they look at each other funny.

bettas will kill guppies.....can not have both.......ask the dudes at pet store, but am sure this is right....betas mean.guppies nice..........
