If it's still eating, then its alive, Its just because of bloat. Try feeding it boiled peas (shelled). It is a common problem in a black moor (the fish you have). If nothing is done, it is sure to die soon. Good Luck!

in my experience a fish floating on it's side is about to die. i guess i could be wrong. the only kind we have that does this and has for a long time and hasn't died is a puffer. i cannot explain why it does it either. all of the goldfish we ever had that started to do this died. now i won't buy them at all. i was told they are a very fragile fish. we have a huge placostamus, they are considered a hearty fish. so are Oscars. i hope your fish doesn't die but if it does and you aren't set on another goldfish try a placo the are really cool fish. you buy them an inch or two long and in a large tank like ours 75 gallons he has grown to over a foot long!! in a ten gallon tank we had one grow to about 6 or 8 inches.

maximum in all risk that is no longer a swim bladder subject. If this fish is a goldfish he maximum in all risk has air trapped in his intestines. only be advantageous you feed goldfish a vegetable flake (spirilina is an spectacular base) to help flow the air with the aid of his intestines. Air is many times ingested while the fish eats flakes floating on the floor and in case you notice the topic reoccurring then you quite could feed a sinking pellet or make advantageous the flakes sink and don't glide on the floor.

There is probably a problem with his swim bladder. I'm not sure if there's any way to correct the problem in small fish, but if there were suggestions for the beta, they may be better than nothing. Really, i don't know what you could do for it, chances are that it's dying.

Swim bladder infection from chronic overfeeding is my guess. Bettas don't heal from that typically.
Euthanize him if it doesn't get better shortly.
