It isn't exactly all or nothing but the primary trait of mammals is the fact that they have mammary glands that produce milk for the young. Most, but not all mammals bear live young, most but not all have hair, however all mammals are also warm blooded. they need to have those two traits certainly and usually have others common to mammals.

All mammals have mammary glands, however not all bear their young in a placental birth, such as a Platypus or Echidna.

The guppies and other livebearers do not have a live placental birth either, they actually hatch from an egg that is held inside the female.

Care of their young does not have anything to do with proper identification here (many Cichlid fish DO take care of their young)

well if they dont produce milk or have hair or nurture their young then they r not mammlals, mammals have to have all these thongs in order to be mammals.if they do not have all of this then it is not a mammal its just a fish.

They need to have hair and have the female give milk in order to be a mammal. Also, they need to be able to breathe air.

You can't "cherry pick" characteristics when you are categorizing animals this way.

Birds are warm-blooded--why aren't They called mammals?

Some Bacteria have hairlike structures, why aren't They called mammals?

My grocery store provides milk to feed my young... why isn't my grocery store considered a mammal??

Is this seriously an issue in your mind? If so, why??
