This will prove it to even the most stubborn teacher

Scientific classification of the guppy

Kingdom:Animalia
Phylum:Chordata
Class:Actinopterygii
Order:Cyprinodontiformes
Family:Poeciliidae
Genus:Poecilia
Species:P. reticulata

Scientific classification of man (a mammal):
Kingdom:Animalia
Phylum:Chordata
Class:Mammalia
Order:Primates
Family:Hominidae
Genus:****
Species:H. sapiens
Subspecies:H. s. sapiens

Notice the line called Class. That is where it branches humans are in the class Mammalia or mammals, guppies are not.

Hope this helps.
