I had to leave her and I've been gone 3 weeks. Didn't think I 'd be gone this long and I'm having a hard time to get back. She's with someone who loves her as much as I do but I'm told she's depressed even as I speak. I've called her a couple of times so she could hear my voice and it was successful temp.

I have a 7 month old Doberman Pinscher. She's very big already, almost as tall as my German Shepherd. She constantly wants to sit in my lap, and does so if I'm sitting on the floor. If I'm in a chair, she'll jump up and lay her upper body and head on my lap. She does this also if I'm in the car, her need to climb into my lap, which has stopped me from bringing her riding. At night she insists on sharing my pillow with me, and nudging me until I raise up the covers for her to sleep under. Basically, she sleeps like a human. She steals my pillow too, and I can't make her move unless I go to the other side of the bed to sleep, then she gets up and does the same. I love her dearly but sometimes it's too much, because she's so big. I have several other dogs, but they act like dogs, not like clingy children. She gets worried too if I'm not around; she paces back and forth. Plus, she doesn't really like anyone but me and my mom. Am I stuck with a big baby? Or will she grow out of this?

I keep my dog in slim, athletic condition to keep her healthy - I've read that dogs kept to a lean healthy weight live longer, develop arthritis later in life, and are less likely overall to have joint and other overweight-related health problems.

But so many people where I live have fat dogs that they often seem to be shocked by my 'skinny' dog (she's not skinny - she has a slim build and is a healthy lean weight). I don't want to get into lectures about overweight pets - that's for their vets to tell them. What's the best way to respond to such comments?

My puppy is in all other ways a wonderful example of a Saint, and her parents were as well. I have another adult Saint that I chose not to breed because he is a wonderful pet but not the best example of the breed, however, my puppy is and I'm wondering if the half mask or other markings should stop me from breeding her.

ok, so i asked a question about 30 mins ago about my dog. i found small, white, very flat mobile worms crawling in her poop. so i did research and found that it's probably tapeworm fragments...and they say that tape worms come from fleas. but we dont hav fleas... she doesnt have fleas... and neither does the other dog. they've NEVER had fleas or been around another dog with fleas.

where did she get them?

She has started "spotting" a brownish fluid today and I was wondering if that is the beginning of her going into heat. Thanks!

My vet took 2 X-rays of our English Pointer and I'm really worried now because he wasn't sure if there were 4 or 5 puppies coming (and this is her 1st litter and my 1st experience). Do the X-rays sometimes not reveal a sure number of puppies or is he an idiot vet? He said there were 4 for sure, and a possible 5th but he couldn't tell if it was an actual puppy b/c it was in a large area of her body that all looked milky white, whereas the other heads were an obvious white against the dark.

This vet refused an emergency call when I asked him if he'd be willing to be on call, so I've found an emergency vet close by, but the whole reason I got her X-rayed ws to find out how many puppies there were. Now since I still don't know for sure, I won't know if she's truly done after 4 if she stops pushing. Are X-rays sometimes unclear like this??
He also said she'd whelp within 24 hours but it's been 24 hours and she's still happy go lucky w/no sign of labor.

i got rejected from three different rental houses i was looking at because they don't allow "german shepherds," boxers, pitbulls, or rotts. he is the SWEETEST dog AND he is full grown and only weighs 27lbs... he looks a little germ. shep. but i don;t think enough to be considered "german shep."
anyhow... blame the deed not the breed

wont that practically ruin all testosterone production so a dog like a pit bull/ american bulldog/ etc will get smaller or fatter?

that happens with humans, like "bob" from fight club.

It was recommended to me, to use on my Chihuahuas and I wanted to see, if anyone else has used it and what they think of it! I'm looking for something safe, non-stinging, mild and effective. Any other suggestions for good ear cleaners, is welcome. Thanks!
