No...a prescription is required to purchase it. You can probably just go back to your vet when you run out. My vet lets me pick more up every few months without having to bring my boys in. Or you can ask him/her to write a prescription and you can purchase it online at a pet med site. (But the prices are almost the same as a vet's office...so, imo it's not worth it.)

If your vet will write you a prescription, last I looked Fosters and Smith had about the lowest prices that I could find. They have a printable prescription form, your veterinarian has to sign it and fax it in. Then you can order your medication in the amount allowed by your vet. Some vets don't mind doing this, others see it as cutting into their business. Just depends on how your vet sees things I suppose.

You can only get Revolution from your veterinarian because it contains heartworm prevention. You can go back to your veterinarian and pick up a years supply. That way you have it on hand, so you won't have to go back once a month to buy it.

You Do Not want to get Revolution from anywhere other than your veterinarian. Petstores are not supposed to sell this product, because it is perscription only. If you do find it at a petstore, Do Not buy it!! And you want to be careful with online pharmacies. You only want to use an online pharmacy if your veterinarian recommends it.

*Please!! Don't buy revolution off ebay. People put all kinds of stuff in these products, then sell you something you didn't want. It is not safe for your dog to buy Revolution from anywhere other than your veterinarian.

Revolution is a prescription item, so you have to go back to your vet to get it.
Advantage and Frontline are OTC.

You need to buy it at your vet's office. If you go to other places (online pet stores), you need the prescription from your vet.

It's "prescription" only. However, if you know what you are talking about, e-bay can cut your cost by half.
But that's just my opinion.
Better than cutting corners via Walmart crap.
