Let me re-phrase your paragraph.

"Hi, i am feeding my dog the worst brand ever, it is called pedigree. It is one of the worst foods out there. I am planning to switch to Canidae or Innova, those are some of the best. Well i just wanted to brag to the world that I, feed my dog terrible food. Bye!"

You really need to switch....

Actually Pedigree is the worst brand to feed your dog and Iams is no better. Why do you think these are the best? Nice commercials, vet recommended, fancy packaging??
I feel bad for your dog.

Please educate yourself on dog food and dog food ingredients.

Ground yellow corn, Ground Rice, Sorghum, Soy, Wheat, all of these are ingredients to avoid, not feed your dog!

I would never feed my dogs Pedigree or Iams, even if they were the last brands on earth.

A couple better choices for you are:
Merrick
Canidae
California Natural
Wellness
Solid Gold
Natural Balance
Castor and Pollux
Nature's Recipe
Evanger's
Innova

And to Freedom, your opinion may be that Raw is the ONLY way to go, but many will disagree. It is a dangerous form of feeding your dog, and it is NOT right for every dog!
Many people have no interest in feeding raw.
If they have a choice between Pedigree and Merrick, they will probably feed Merrick.
Many people are sickened at the thought of feeding raw to their dog, me included.
Try not to shove your OPINION down the throats of every one here.

Are you joking around? I am not being mean but there are NOT good foods at all and would not even fall into a decent catagory. It is not a matter of opinion all you have to do is read the labels and know what they mean. The Dog Food Project is a good site for learning. But honestly the only way I would feed that to my dog is if I hated them. They are commerical foods and use the lowest grade meats you can find to make big money cheap. www.nexusmagazine.com has an article about Pet Food Pollution and they tell you straight out the truth behind dog food.

Feeding your dog pedigree or iams is nothing to brag about. and i don't know what to believe about iams being a den of death. but what i do know is that both dog food brands are crap. just look at the ingredients and thats your proof right there.

and should the iams bad rep be true, all those involved should be crucified on an inverted cross and become satan's bitches in hell. if its not true, then they should just be crucified for making crappy products.

well first of all neither r "the best foods out there" both suck. they r made of crappy ingredients. look on the bag. if corn is in either one dont even bother. ur not feeding ur dog great food. switch to something like canidae, innova, or chicken soup brand. these r much better and dont contain all of the nasty preservatives and by products and fillers that iams or pedigree does. anything u can find at walmart or see on tv is pure garbage

Um... Why don't you tell your friends. Not to be rude, but a bunch of people online who don't know you aren't really impressed.

Now, if you want advice... I could tell you that Pedigree isn't really a very good food. They have a large advertising budget. I fed it for years because I thought it was good, too. My dogs did OK on it, but when I switched to a better quality food, I definitely noticed a big difference in their coats and general health.

If you're on a budget (I was) I'd look for a food based on ingredients. It does cost more money to feed a high-quality food, but it also costs money to advertise, and Pedigree and Iams do A LOT of advertising. It's possible that another food for the same price as Pedigree is a better quality food.

I'd recommend you do your own research instead of relying on ads. This site is helpful for checking out dog foods: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/

Good luck!

Dogs are survivors and will eat whatever they get to be able to live. This does not make it right. There is NO species that I am aware of that eats the same food day in and day out its entire life in nature. A dog certainly would NOT.
They are meant to have raw meaty bones and organs from a variety of animals.
That is what mine eat! People tend to think for some reason that just because you can FORCE a dog to eat cereal its whole life and he does it, that it is all well and good.
How about if all of you kibble feeders stop eating a variety of fresh foods and just live on box after box after box of Total Cereal for the rest of your lives? Everything you need is in there. I'm sure your hair will be shiny. I mean shiny hair IS what many people tend to base a good diet on for a dog.
RIDICULOUS! A little thinking and common sense would tell people that dogs or any other living creature should not be made to live a life on synthetic vitamins and nutrients and that is ALL kibble is... A bunch of grains and other crap that has had all the original nutrients cooked out of it and synthetic vitamins sprayed on just before it goes into the bag. What it means basically is that a piece of cardboard is complete and balanced if you take it with a multi-vitamin!
Sound delicious? Sound healthy? Sound fair?
I sure don't think so.
Switching from this crapinabag to that crapinabag is NOT making progress.

There are many quality dog foods out there, just make sure you feed your dog according to his age and activity level. Plus, don't give him treats or extras that would ruin his good overall diet.
Your pet will live a much healthier, longer life with the proper nutrition.

Maybe you'll think twice next time you buy into the advertising of the corporate giants that put crap in a bag, dress it up with pretty packaging and tell us that it's what we should feed our four-legged kids.

Lovely, but don't be alarmed.
When you first switch to Iams, the dog may have IBS for a while, with diarhea, until his stomach adjusts.
Shouldn't last too long though.
It is common when switching dog foods, but at least going from one good brand to another, it doesn't last as long.

Hey,despite all of the nay-sayers about big brand dog food, all of the dogs I have ever owned were brought up on Iams. They were all happy, healthy dogs...some people go a little overboard with telling you that you need to switch to an un-heard of expensive brand, but they probably have a $100,000 a year budget for their dogs alone, or they show dogs. Normal, every day home dogs do just fine on these, just do the transition SLOWLY otherwise there will be liquid "surprises" and a gassious dog on your hands. I curently feed our new puppy Nutro, as that is what the previous owners fed him, and found this to be a fantastic brand as well...congrats on your healthy pup!
