It sounds like your dog may have heart worms. Making an appointment is crucial if this is the case, am surprised the Vet didn't have you bring him in earlier. I assume your dog is also loosing a lot of weigt as well? The vet should be able to correct this, but make sure you get him into Vet first thing tomorrow, I would go in earlier than scheduled time.

Nice. Flat worms? Sound like tapeworms but they usually come out in rice-grain shaped segments, so maybe it's roundworms. Anyway it doesn't really matter what kind they were, the vet will be able to give you a tablet that will kill all kinds of worms.

Your dog could've caught these from eating small animals like mice, or just by sniffing around other dog's poo. Different types of worm are caught from different places, some are in the soil. This is why you're supposed to worm dogs every 3 months, so they don't catch them - do this from now on!!

EDIT: It isn't ringworm - ringworm is a fungal infection, not an actual worm. And Frontline doesn't treat worms. Heartworms are also not passed in poo, they're coughed or vomited up.

Sounds like your dog has round worms. Dogs can get worms pretty much anywhere. It's usually when they ingest fleas though. Your vet will probably want a stool sample to test it for the worms.

Sounds like round worms. They can get them anywhere. Bring a stool sample of the poop when she goes in the mornign and bring it to your vets for them to do a fecal exam on then they will tell you for sure and give you the proper meds for it ok. dont use anything over the counter it usually doesnt work and doesnt cover all worms.

Add: dogs cant poop out heart worms. They stay within the dogs heart!

from waht you are describing it sounds like tape worm they get them from fleas.
Make sure when you take a stool sample in it has some as it won't show upin the stool sample
you may wnat to talk to your vet about flea treatments for the dog and the house( general rule for every flea on the dog there's 100 in the house)

if you didn't already, get a sample of the crap, and show it to your vet.

if the crap has already been "disposed of" [lmao!] then just describe the worms to your vet and he/she should be able to tell you what they are.

your vet will also know a treatment. it might be because your dog wasnt on Frontline [or somethin else like that].

Good Luck :D

I can't say what kind they were, but dogs step in there poo and the poo of oither daogs and the worms usually get inside from the paws of dogs or he ate food that was old or outside and flies laid eggs on them and they got in his stomach.

google the phrase "dog worms"

It is probably hook worms or tape worms. That is terrible. Take to vet immediately - emergency. Don't wait for an appointment. EDITED...This could be from outside too long or not keeping your dog clean by bathing him every other day. You need to keep the dog clean and healthy with his eating habit and by all means keep your house clean. You don't want a worm coming out of your butt too do you?

My sister had a worm come out of her butt when she was young. This can happen to adults as well. Be clean and sanitary.
