Im planning to buy a labrador puppy, a friend is selling hers. The the litter has black, yellow and somewhat dark brown. I want the black one but it has spot under its chin, are there labradors with spots? (under their chin, paws, tummy)

Sure, they can have spots. Yellows can have black spots, blacks can have white spots. My own black lab has a white stripe on her chest.

They can even be brindle or black and tan, but these are much rarer. I work with guide dogs, most of whom are labs. We don't care about looks as much as temperament, so we get all sorts of recessive traits. They are 100% pure labs, though!

A white spot in the coat?

It is possible. Most likely places are chest and sometimes paws. But a white spot is "not desirable" in the show ring for AKC. So the dog shouldn't be bred and couldn't win a dog show, but could make a great pet.

Not all. Before we moved house, one of our neighbour's cats was completely black. I know what you mean about a lot of black cats having a white chin though. My cat is darkly coloured and has no white on her apart from her chin. I think she's the most multi-coloured cat ever. She's black, grey, bronze, ginger and a bit of white on her chin.

Awww! I have a black lab girl and she has a little white spot on her chest and some by her belly. Doesn't bother me though! She still gets my love!

If you are not showing the dog a spot won't hurt.
