My vet school has a primary practice clinic as well as a referrals clinic, so I'd imagine that a lot of others do as well. However, the charges are no different to any other general vet clinic.
Your best bet would be to find out if there are any large shelters or welfare organisations in your area. Most of these will have a vet clinic attached and do provide lower cost veterinary care to the community.

I want! Luckily round right here I discovered a vet that had retired, then got here again given that he stored listening to how his customers have been being ripped off by means of different vets. He costs 10-20 consistent with talk over with and regularly offers medication at no cost! He is brilliant and TRULY cares approximately the animals. three different vets have been looking to speak me into getting this severe knee surgical procedure performed on my eight month historical kitten. When I took my kitten to this vet he stated "don't have a surgical procedure, you'll have the equal influence that you've now (limping) and your cat can have arthritis for lifestyles, its no longer reasonable to the animal. I CAN do it should you desire however I'm realy towards doing so" which I wholly favored becuase I did not desire a surgical procedure performed. Call round. Changes are the vet with the most affordable workplace talk over with goes to be the one who cares such a lot approximately the animals. Their examination rooms will not be spotless, however the tables must be blank :)

Yes but you should call before hand to verify their hours and services available.
I just read your additional details. Contact the local Humane Society and ask for assistance in locating someone who is inexpensive or if there's a group that will help cover some of the costs. You'd be surprised at how much help is out there. Good luck and God bless your family, including your pet.
I just came across this site. They have a section that you can ask question on. Maybe they can assist you with veterinary information via e-mail.

In Oklahoma, the vet teaching school takes on a few special cases every year/ Unusual cases that require alot of testing. You have to sent there by your veterinarians recommendation.. You cannot make an appointment on your own.
Many humane societies have funds to help owners that cannot afford care. Check with your local humane society.

Yes, and it is usually just as, if not more expensive , than your vet.
I go to Cornell for specialist visits and anything that the regular vet cannot handle......but it COSTS!!! They do NOT do it for free!!!!!!!!!!!
And Cornell...like many others RE-RUN any tests that your vet has already done..a little frustrating and more expense. But you can't beat it when you are aproblem or need a specialist. All my puppies have to be seen by a Board Certified Cardiologist prior to sale, and Cornell is the place I go. For something like that, they are quite resonable, but for a cardiac PROBLEM...the $$$ add up!!!

Absolutely!
Call ahead to make an appointment. Chances are, they don't take walk ins.
And I don't know what all those folks are talking about, U.C. Davis is the best!
(Just kidding, I went to Davis for a while, so when people talk about their schools being the best, well, I gotta set them right! LOL)

You can, but most vet schools accept patients by referral only, so you need to call your local vet school small animal department and ask them.

You would have to call up your local vet school.. they probably differ in what sort of things they are looking for in a patient.
