I can get the medicine for it, but ALL of the different medicines say DO NOT USE ON PUPPIES YOUNGER THAT 12 WEEKS.

Please refrain from hateful answers, if I could take her to the vet at this time, I would. Some unexpected expenses came up... sorry, it happens!

1) How do you know she has mange? If it was properly diagnosed by a vet then there is no way of knowing..not all hair loss is caused by mange
2) Never self medicate any dog especially a puppy doing so can cause more harm then good even being fatal
3) without proper diagnosis you can't treat a problem

You need to find a way to take this puppy to the vets..it needs a proper diagnosis, proper treatment and a good thorough exam. Proper veterinary care is part of responsible dog ownership.

****NEVER, EVER use gasoline, kerosine, motor oil or any other such nonsense on your puppy/dog to do so could KILL your puppy..suggestions to use such things are way off the mark and lacking in common sense*******

First are you sure it's mange. It's really hard to treat topically your best bet is to take it to the vet and get a systemic drugs. Most dips needed are toxic to humans and a licensed vet would have to use a specialized dip. Revolution heartworm and flea medication also will help in the treatment. Since this disease is highly contagious to young, old, and immunosupressed animals, keep the pup away from other dogs.

My doggie had mange too when he was 4 months, for about 3 weeks, but we did take him to the vet because it was getting really bad. His fur was falling out so much and he was dark pink all over, it looked so scary so we took him in and that's where he was diagnosed with it. The vet recommended giving him dips, where they dip the dog in special medication to help get rid of the mites under his skin, which were causing the mange, but he said that since puppy are especially prone to it because their immune system wasn't strong enough to fight it, that eventually when he got older, it would start clearing up. After going to only about 3 dips, he soon started clearing up and it hasn't came back since. He's 9 months now. I would recommend taking your puppy in for a few dips because if it's not helped soon, the mites will start increasing and it will drastically affect your dog's appearance and even health.

There are two types of mange. Both respond to ivermectin. Demodectic mange is an auto-immune disease, so supporting the immune system with good food is paramount. Your vet can prescribe ivermectin and a dip to kill off the mites. Demodectic mange often comes back, but sarcoptic mange is fairly easy to treat.

The motor oil idea that someone suggested would only kill mites above the skin not the "red" mange which is actually demodectic mange. You have to do large doses of ivermectin by mouth for that. You vet will have to prescribe it unless you choose to use it off label which is illegal in many areas.

If it hasn't been to the vet how do you know it has mange? It could be ringworm, allergies, diet related. Take it to the vet and get a diagnosis and the proper treatment for it. Also there are 2 types of mange and there is different treatment for them. Sarcoptoc mange is contagious to humans too.

No,because you don't know if it's demodectic mange or sarcoptic mange. The treatments are different for the two. Also, the puppy could have a secondary skin infection and need antibiotics, and it needs to be wormed and vaccinated. And,sarcoptic mange is highly contagious,so if you have any other animals, they can catch it,and so can you,for that matter.

Give the dog proper treatment by taking the dog to the veternarian. Mange cannot be cured with a home remedy.
