It was recommended to me, to use on my Chihuahuas and I wanted to see, if anyone else has used it and what they think of it! I'm looking for something safe, non-stinging, mild and effective. Any other suggestions for good ear cleaners, is welcome. Thanks!

Yes I have used it. It is a very good product to use to clean out the dogs ears.

Add: never use a Q-Tip in your dogs ears. All it does is push the debris down in the dogs ear canal even further and then causes a blockage or ear infection.

Yes. I own a bullmastiff and because they have ears that hang down they get very dirty. She plays a lot with her big brother (not blood brother, a male german shepherd) and this causes her ears to get dirty quite often. I have been using that product due to my vets recommendation for about 3 years now and it works great. It is better then water because of its ability to evaporate better so it doesnt just sit in your dogs ear canal for days at a time. What I do is soak a cotton ball with it and thoroughly wipe out her ears then I take a dry cotton ball and do the same. Warning--- between wet and dry wipes your dog will shake his/her head so make sure you are not wearing any clothes you car for. It works excellent though, I would deffinately reccomend it.

P.S.
You should not use Q-tips on your dogs ears and definately dont insert anything down your dogs ear drum. If you cant see it, dont clean it. Follow the directions on the bottle. You can clean the inner ear drum by allowing the cleaning fluid to go into your dogs ear, this will get the job done.

The vet I used to work with recommended it but it does not work very well. (She was a bad vet) I would make sure none of her food or treats have any yeast or beet pulp. if the food has these two ingredients than nothing will help but changing the food. Next clean her ears with some apple vinegar. Then use some ear cleaner with comfry. This is safe and very effective. Do this three times a day for a week. This will make her ears nice and clean then if she is on a good diet she will never have any more ear problems. Look for Solid Gold Wee Bit in your area. Its great for Chihuahuas.

I have 11 chihuahuas and I never even have to clean their ears. They warn you against getting even a drop of water in their ears,so be careful in whatever you use.UNLESS you have had prior ear infections with this dog,I would just be sure that the part of the ear you can see stays clean with a baby wipe.Mine,I never even have t touch. But,I do have shar pei who seem to hav continuous ear infections, and I use a wash I buy from my vet.but the over the counter stuff seems to be just as effective.

Ya, it's an ok product. There are lot's of them you can use that are just as effective and lower priced. It's best to use a cotton ball when cleansing the ear. NEVER use a q-tip. If the pet decided to suddenly move you could damage it's ear drum. Am including a link for you so you can compare prices and products. Hope that is helpful!

We carry that at my surgery, it's good stuff.

EDIT: I think perhaps Lizard S's dog's ears had a problem that wasn't to do with needing an ear clean - like allergies. His answer is the same as saying 'Frontline didn't cure my dog's broken leg, it's rubbish'

This is a good product. My veterinarian carries this ear cleaner. If you are concerned, you should contact your veterinarian to see what they think of it.
