My 8 month old beagle has been sleeping in the kitchen ever since my boyfriend and I got him (2 months now). I have been reading and it says that beagles should sleep in your bedroom. Is this true? He's used to sleeping in the kitchen but should he really be sleeping with us? Of course he would still be sleeping in his cage because he is not housetrained yet. But do you think it would be damaging to change where he sleeps? Thanks!

are beagles smart? do they learn very easy? are they eager to please? i have read that they are independent and stubborn. i also read that they are noisy. is all this true? i was going to give a pair of beagles a home, but then i read that and changed my mind. i dont know about beagles much, but i have an 8 month old black and tan coonhound, and he is very smart, willing to please, and extremely obedient for only being a pup.

We have a male and female dog and our male is not neutered because we breed/show. He's a great dog, but when he goes outside he urinates on anything, including our outdoor furniture, fountains, planters, etc. Is there anything we can spray on certain items in particular that will keep him away from the more expensive and undesirable items for him to urinate on? I don't mind if he lifts his leg on a tree or shrub, but the outdoor furniture etc. is a problem as we also like to entertain. We can't fence off the area because our entertainment/patio area is too large. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have made a web site, to show my understanding, if you want to see it here is the link: http://dog.luvr.4eva.googlepages.com/
Hope you like it. I have already written a letter to them, but they havent replied. I bet they think: "Who cares what a 13yr old writes!"
The by-laws say they have to have a valid reason, and "not enough space", "because of the barking" are not valid.

How long is it going to take Advantage to kill the fleas on my dog, and then how long does it take after that for his major flea allergic reaction to die down after he's not recieving flea bites? Also, does it just kill the adults, or the larva, pupa, and eggs too? I read that it kills them when they bite... But I can't have my dog get bitten at all or he'll break into reaction again. There's is no way to completely kill the fleas in the invironment, because he goes on walks and such, but is there something that completely discourages them from even jumping on him, or does Advantage do that too? He can't take any baths, because it will get rid of the oils in his skin which he really really needs atm, and I can't use harsh chemicals(such as bombing) because there are two toddlers in the house, along with pocket pets that I can't really remove from the household. I'm just really also looking for any other products(besides spot-ons) that've worked miracles for people.

I was googling some things and I found an article about these dogs called Bully Whippets, born to normal Whippets but have some strange genetic mutation that makes them gain muscle mass. Take a look at this:

Wow, once everyone finds out about them, they're going to be the new Pit Bull. Aren't they scary?

I have a 1 year old gsd, and right now, I can tell he's underweight. I can see his rib cage from his side, and his spines. I fill his bowl with food every day and fresh water, but he only eat a little bit at a time, and sometimes, doesn't eat at all. I don't understand how he can not be hungry for the whole day. I've walked him, and it helped a little bit (he would eat a few bites after a walk). I wish I could tell him to eat like I would with a child, but he doesn't understand. So, the question is, what should I do? I can't really buy him all the health supplements or additional food product that would help with his appetite, but if the price is reasonable, I will consider it. We're broke right now and can't afford much. Thanks in advance, and please, no nasty replies about me being the worst owner whatsoever. Don't judge what you don't know and cannot see.

My dog is 3 years old, neutered and is potty trained. Except lately when he goes to my friends house, who usually dog sits him for me, he has started lifting his leg in their house. It is a neon yellow spray, and it is staining their home. How do I get him to stop lifting his leg in other peoples houses?

I've read some mixed answers on the internet and seen labs at dog parks act kind of bullying (but maybe just because they are so muscular).

I want to rescue a lab puppy and raise him with my current puppy who is a small breed but thinks shes big (jack russell mix) and loves playing with big dogs.

But at dog parks the golden retreiver types are nice to her and play good. The labs are rough. Is this generally how they are? thank you in advance.

3 of my dogs suffer from flea allergies can you give me any good shampoos, ointments, or drops that will help me keep the fleas off my dogs and allow their hair to grow back and keep my dogs from itching. Thanks

My dog is bichon frise and he gets fleas really bad!!! I've tried it all, Frontline, K9 advantix,Capstar, Shampoos And brewers yeast. He stays infested I have no problem killing the fleas just keeping them off. None of my other animals have them. I've even had the yard& house proffesionally treated more than once. I know my other animals don't have them because I check dailly. I even use shampoo that is not supposed to wash off my flea treatments. Something about this dog just attracts them, he is covered in sores from digging and scatching. I've been to 4 different vets. they just keep telling me to treat his enviroment. I have!!! and you don't see other people who take their dogs with them everywhere they go have this problem and you know they are not always in a flea free area. I thought they were supposed to repel also . PLEASE HELP I'M DESPERATE!!!!!!!

If I get a puppy, what should I name it? I want to be a pilot and love aviation so I was thinking Delta or Boeing. What else do you think would be cute for a little puppy?

I am looking for a new puppy, and I'm trying to narrow down my choices.I am an experienced dog person, and will be using this dog for obediance, showmanship,a running partner, and probably other doggie sports like agility, all when it is old enough. It needs to be smart, athletic, flashy, and of medium size.I was looking at dogs from the sporting, herding, and working group.I have an acre and a half of fenced in land.I don't want a German Shepherd,Retriever,or Boxer.I also have a budget of about $850-1 grand is pushing it.My options so far:Pointer,German Shorthaired Pointer,Australian Shepherd,Border Collie,Weimaraner, and Rhodesian Ridgeback.

My chihuahua gave birth to a litter about 7 weeks ago. The pups are weaned. She is bleeding now. (of course, she had stopped bleeding after giving birth). Is there any way she could be in heat again this soon? Or do you think this is a problem I should be concerned about?

Do you worm on a routine basis, or take fecal samples in yearly??
Do you show or do performance events and are more concerned about parasites??
Do you rely on Interceptor or the like for parasite control?
Do you use garlic or some other "natural" remedy for parasites???

(we are just talking intestional parasites now...no fleas and ticks!)
