Most likely she had an allergic reaction to something like a bug/spider bite. Just a few days ago, my neighbors daughter came over to my house to ask my advise on what was happening to her Chihuahua puppy. He had hives all over his body and his eyes were swollen shut. I told her to wait overnight to take the puppy in since it was 10pm at night when she came over. The following morning she said the puppy was all better.
If you dog has gotten into the trash or you have automotive fluids left out in reach of the dog (antifreeze) then don't hesitate to take your dog into the emergency vet.

It could easily be a bee sting or an allergic reaction. Take her to the vet!! For like a $5 shot she can feel alot better and it also might involve her throat and she will sufficate. When its not as serious a reaction you can use over teh counter benedryl for the dog. If she is that swollen the vets shot will be more assurring she will recover.

this is totally a wager yet whilst her face is swollen it must be an allergic reaction. have you ever given her something that should reason a reaction? Has she been in the backyard? this is a wasp or bee sting. My canines grow to be stung and her face swelled up. The vet gave her an injection to cut back the swelling and she or he grow to be ok. attempt to no longer worry i'm effective she'll be nice.

It is a serious allergic reaction of some sort. Take her to the vet. Think of all she has done for you. Don't let her suffer. Take her to the vet. They'll help you. She may be allergic to bee stings. Whatever it is, this is no place to come for such a serious problem. Her life could be in danger. Go - Now!

When my retriever got stung her face swelled up really bad, I called my vet & he told me to give her benadryl. One whole tablet, & if we did not notice some releif for her within an hour or 2, give her another one. Not sure what size dog you have, but you can call an anaimal ER, & ask how much to give her. The benadryl will not hurt her. Just make her sleepy, and give releif if it is an allergic reaction.

Obviously a allergic reaction to something. Bring your dog inside. Is she breathing OK? are there any marks ANYWHERE on her body? Call a vet or vet clinic, your dogs life could be in danger.

Its a shame that the first reaction to something like this is to go ask Yahoo Answers! Does it even occur to you that your dog needs medical attention from a vet first? Ask questions later!

Give her a benadryl while you are in the car on your way to the vet. Make sure she is still breathing since some allergic reactions can make her throat swell shut.

As everyone has said - to the vet ASAP. Could also be a venomous snake bite.
