I don`t know her history,14 years is old but then if she has been top healthy mebay its not the age.

It was a good idea to take off the flea collar, mebay she was allergic to it.

well if you can`t takeher to the vet ,then stay with her watch her,be there for her, mebay it is the age so its best if she doe have one watching her.
tomorrow morning first thing bring her to the vet then you know for sure.
i hope your dog will be ok ,blue heeler are great dogs(have one (mix)myself).

good luck to your dog

Yes, take the collars off all the animals. As well as sometimes being dangerous, they don't work against fleas at all.

'Old and tired' - as that a reason not to take a sick animal to a vet? Tell your grandparents that the next time THEY are sick you're not going to let them go to a doctor - after all, they're just old and probably tired! Gross attitude.

Well, unfortunately even if I do tell you what might be wrong with her you would still need a vet to perform diagnostics and treatment. To be honest it is hard to diagnose without seeing the patient, plus as a technician I CANNOT diagnose. BUT I can tell you what I THINK it could possibly be.
This sounds Cardiac. With her age this is a high possibility especially since you described " Belly breathing". She needs probably xrays and/or Ultrasound to confirm then depending on the grade supportive care.

I wish you the best.

Try taking off the flea collar for a week or two and see if shes better. If that doesn't work (sorry to say this but) you'll have to go to the vets.

TAKE THE FLEA COLLAR OFF! Flea collars are poison and ineffective at best! Many dogs have died from those damn flea collars.
You say don't tell you to go to the vet, but what else do you suggest? We can't exactly run blood tests on your dog via the internet.
Get her to a vet as soon as you can.

She is 14...watch her closely, she may be getting "tired" and it may be her time. Keep her warm and give her lots of loving until you can reach vet. If breathing gets worse, definitely try to find emergency vet.

This is an EMERGENGY. Your dog is having trouble breathing, she is a senior citizen, she may have had a stroke, or some other emergency. You need to find the nearest emergency clinic (call your regular vet - it may be on their answering machine, if not try the yellow pages or 411). There are emergency clinics open all night. Find one and get her there ASAP.
