I have an 8wk old pug puppy and I think she is constipated...she hasnt pooed all day yesterday, and nothing today either...A few days she had diarrhea, and the vet told me to put her on a bland diet (boiled chicken and boiled rice), for a few days... also she started her de-wormer meds yesterday..the vet said this will give her diarrhea, but i think it has done the opposite..what should i do.. she has been sleeping a lot today ((But that could be cuz she had such a busy day yesterday, and was up half the nite whining))...she ate her food but way slower than usual...What should i do to help her poo

We have a lot of dogs and it seems that the meat bees are attracted to their food. Most of the dogs that we have are puppies, and I do not want them to get hurt.

If dogs in general are as expensive to take care of as some insist, then the question must be raised, "Are many dogs better off sitting in pounds and shelters waiting to be euthanized instead going to tight-budget middle class homes?"

Many people that own dogs are found to be rather obsessive, and their voices get heard most when it comes to dog ownership.Alot of policies and laws have been changed to fit these obsessive dog owners request. Many of these owners don't realize that they are actually hurting more dogs than they are helping. Many people love dogs though it has to be understood that dogs are just animals. You cannot put the same value of life on a dog as you would a human life. Human life is immensely more valuable than an animals. An illustration to reveal this goes along these lines," In a burning house a dog and man are trapped. You only have enough time to save one. Who do you save? If you were rationally sane you would choose to save the man."

About a year ago we had to dog steps for our dog who just turned 14 years old. It was getting difficult for him to get into the car and on the couch. he's a good sized dog and when he was younger he could jump straight up and land with all 4 feet on the dinng room table. about 30 inches(.75m). he uses them, but you can tell he'd rather not.

My neighbor is trying to sue us because out chow dog bit her inside our home. I held the dog back and she only suffered a superifical wound. No blood, she is now threating to put a lein on everything we own if we get the chow back after the 10 days observation at the animal shelter. The dog is always behind a fenced yard and for some reason has always hated this woman. She is black we are white, and she stated my dad has trained the dog to hate black people, which is not true. The chow dog had always had a hatred for black people, dont know why? I know this sounds crazy but it is true. Please advise me does she have a chance of winning if she sues us. We have offered to pay for her tetanus and doctor bill. But like I said the wound was minor. She has turned this into a racial thing, and we have always been friends since she moved in. My dad is prejudicious but me and my mom are not. We cant control my dad he wants the dog back but me and my mom do not. Does she have a good case?

Are mutts essentially hassel-free when it comes to particular foods and yearly vaccinations?

I'm looking for a dog that is easy to manage and I've heard mutts are easier to care for than breed dogs. Is this true?

I walked in my room and she has gotten blood on my bed spread. I checked her out and finally figured out she had bit her tongue. Is there anything I can do to ease her pain till it heals? Would getting softer food help in the mean time or am I just worried for nothing?

I have a Korean Jindo. She gave birth today to 2 newborn puppies. Her stomach is very baggy and big. Will she continue to have her puppies up to one week? She keeps on scratching the floor and spinning in circles. Is this normal for a pregnant dog? Should I be worried? Thank you in advance

My 10 week old golden retriever is really cute, and sweet. I love her a lot, but about 3 or 4 times a day she just goes into these chewing modes where she bites everyone in our house cause she wants something to chew on. She bites our ankles, hands and whatever she can reach. We tell her NO! or NO BITE! but it doesnt work. Last night she riped a hole in my jeans. I'm taking her to a puppy class at petsmart on sunday, but I want to know how to help her with her problem. We often give her toys to chew on, but then she drops it and goes for us again.

All answers welcome!

Our family's shepherd has been acting odd the last few weeks, he is becoming more aggressive nipping at the kids, chasing cars and and acting as if he doesnt know who we are until he right on top of us. He has never acted this way before and has always been gentle and calm. Should i be worried for him?

My labradoodle has the best temperment ever. He got out of the car at the beach with my parents. A moment later an Akita had charged at him and attacked him. My dad tried to hold the Akita so it could do my dog no further damage. The owners of the attacking dog yelled at my dad saying he was strangling the dog. My mum pointed out that the dog had bitten our dog. The man shrugged and said "dog's will be dog's". The man also stated his dog would attack ALL other dogs. When he took his dog he said quite clearly "good boy". My parents took my dog to the vets and was examed. He had suffered several puncture wounds and a cut across his inner thigh, the Akita had also punctured part of the muscle. My dog just turned 10 months yesterday, the day of the attack. What I want to know is why on earth did the man praise the dog?? I cried most of last night, the very thought of my puppy being harmed in anyway made me feel physically sick! He was supposed to be going to his dog training today!!

I found out about a Bull Mastiff that was abandoned at a nearby vet's office. The girlfriend of my friend's brother took him to the vet to get his shots. When they called the girl to pick him up she wouldn't answer the phone. Hondo has been at the vet's office for two weeks (at $13 per day). My friend told me about Hondo since she knew we are wanting a Masiff. My boyfriend and I went to the vet today to see Hondo and maybe bring him home. We were told that Hondo came in the office to get his rabies shot and we'd be paying for that. We'd also have to pay for some other shot they gave him plus the 2 weeks worth of boarding The total came to $175. Supposedly, Hondo will be put to sleep very soon unless he gets a new home. Should we really have to pay someone elses bill? Can't they go after her for that money? Especially when they just want to get rid of the dog and we were willing to take him off their hands?

I tried Innova wet food because my chihuahua doesn't like to eat dry all day, but it's a bit too mushy (I thought it would be chunkier). So I'd prefer she just stick with dry food in general.

I was wondering about the size of the dog food, though. Sometimes I wonder if kibble is a bit too hard, though I know it helps clean the teeth. What does Innova dog food look like, and do you think it's ok for a chihuahua's tiny teeth?

Thanks : )
