I walked in my room and she has gotten blood on my bed spread. I checked her out and finally figured out she had bit her tongue. Is there anything I can do to ease her pain till it heals? Would getting softer food help in the mean time or am I just worried for nothing?

tongues bleed a lot, the wound might be very small and just a lot of blood.
If you want to ease the pain, try putting some ice cubes in the water dish. and adding a little water to the dry food to soften it up.
Changing your dog food to wet could give your dog an upset stomach, if he is not use to the food. Also the wet food may be more acidly than the dry.

Never heard of that, but mouth injuries heal a lot faster by just doing nothing. She'll feel better if you just leave it alone. If you feed her kibble, you can soften it a bit with warm water, but don't go out and buy canned food if you don't already feed it to her. Best thing to do for her bit tongue is a kiss on her head and get well wishes. Good luck.

there is nothing to do, the mouth is one of the fastest healing parts of the body. Just use some hydrogen peroxide on the sheets and throw them in some cold water to wash. Try to find where the dog chewed to cut her tongue and get rid of the toy or whatever.

It's nothing serious. Your dog will be fine. But if it's hurting the dog bad, then you can try to put something cold on the dogs tounge. It always helps me when i have a cut or something. Otherwise, it will gradally heal on it's own, and it's nothing to worry about. Don't panic, and good luck! =)

Ahh that is such a poor dog. For your bedspread don't worry it isn't living. That happened to my dog she was stubborn and looked upset. We gave her treats and peanut butter with some type of medicene in it so it would make her better. You van find things like that at pet stores and they can give you advice. But if you have more questions on pets email me: kailyn311@yahoo.com! Hope that helps!

It should be fine, just watch it and if it looks like it's getting infected- take her to the vet. She should be fine though, my puppy has done the same thing.
DON'T give her any human medication unless you first check with your vet, but she really doesn't need it because dogs are a lot tougher than humans.

Keep a close eye on the bite and if it starts to get swollen and she stops eating its infected.. Just go to the vet and get some antibiotics and pets do feel pain just like us!
