Golden's are very mouth oriented to begin with and when they are teething it is double trouble. I have an 11 week old right now who is teething also. No pig ears or raw hides for Golden pups. I have purchased puppy chew toys for my little guy here. A Kong chew toy and some puppy nylabones and a few tough stuff chew toys.
Do not allow him to use you as a chew toy. Not a good thing. I firm no then offer him a toy to chew on. Keep saying no and the offering the toy. Nipping is also not allowed either. I place my hand around the pups muzzle gently and say NO Bite! Then give him a chew toy. It's not a over night fix and never hit or pop the pup on the nose.
They need to chew so you need to find the right toys and chew items that will help your pup trough this time.
Good Luck with your Golden pup! They are a lot of fun!

Leave lots of yummy tasting chewy things around the house, and he'll leave your furniture, shoes, etc. alone. Remember to crate him every time you leave the house, or you can expect to come back to a big mess. You wouldn't dream of leaving a toddler on his own in your house, and this dog is a toddler. Get lots of toys, a rope to play tug of war, a ball to play fetch, and chewy stuff.
There's also a chew toy call the Kong. You put peanut butter in it, or any other food the dog likes, and the dog has to chew and chew and stick his tongue in the hole, and if you want to be very dastardly, freeze it before you give it to your dog. It will be doubly hard to get to the peanut butter. It'll keep the puppy busy.
You also need treats. My dog liked jerky treats the best, but in order that he not get fat, I broke them into small pieces (fingertip size). The trainer says it doesn't matter how big the treat is, what matters to the dog is that he's being rewarded frequently for obedient behaviors.
Have fun. Puppies are cute. Bouncy, uh-oh energy's low, plop--asleep.

Keep him chewing on his own stuff and not yours. This is a phase the he is going to go through for quite some time. My chocolate lab, a little crazy, kept it up for several months. I would almost suggest crate training so the puppy doesn't get stuff you don't want them to chew.
He's bored and teething. If you are not with him, he will need something to fill his time. Remember not to give him too much of the pig ears... they are really fattening... Try cheap dog toys from Wal-Mart or tennis balls.

there are lots of teething type toys at stores like petco or pet smart. for example, when mine was a teething puppy i bought some toys that you put in the freezer that are soothing on the dogs gums. if you provide your dog with enough toys like that he won't want to chew on your stuff since the teething toys will feel better on his gums anyways.

Pet stores sell pig's ears... so does Sam's Club.
Give the dog lots of things to chew on.

The dog is a baby, it bites everything, just as a human baby does. Natural behaviour that will slowly wear off. Puppies are untrainable, or at least to any non cruel method. Which gives you time to get out and find some books on having a pet dog and how to look after it. You need to train yourself before you know enough to train a dog, or forfil your responsibilities as a dog owner. She not just a toy.

try and avoid hard bones as these will break the teeth. that usually is ok as they will grow back but you want to give the new teeth a chance. buy some soft toys for your pup and also you can buy treats specially designed for pups in mind. you should find these in all your local pet stores and even supermarkets.
maybe play with socks they love that.

Aww! I remember when daisy, my golden, was 7 weeks! First of all, steer clear of rawhide treats because i heard they are not the best for puppies. Give your dog lots of rubber toys to chew that she/he wont tear up. Trust me. i learned the hard way.
Hope i helped!

Anything for him to chew on will help, from faw hide bones to pigs ears. You can also buy teething rings for gods. When my dog was teething he used to love to crunch on ice cubes. The cold must of helped numb the pain

I probably needs things to chew on. As long as it can't choke on this pig skin, buy it for him, or call your vet for suggestions.
