Hi!
I have a dog that needs to take 4 pills a day for health problems. The problem is that she is very picky about food: does not like cream cheese, hot dogs etc. If I wrap it in the peace of ham she will eat the ham and spit the pills out. Today she almost choked on some cream cheese!! I am out of ideas. Please help! She is a big dog (Husky and German Sheppard mix). Thank you.

My pug is over a yr old - and to this day she is going in her crate, in her bed in the house, on the carpet, right outside the front door (instead of walking 4 steps to the grass) this is a major problem i know and i have a dog behaviourlist coming to my house next week - any suggestions to help me during the meantime.

I have a 2 year old male Chocolate Lab that I want to start breeding. He's very smart, friendly and really is a beautiful dog. My question is, what can I expect when the two dogs are together. Do they really "get stuck"? Im a little embarrased to ask this(I'm 30 and should know I guess, but I don't) This is a serious question, so anyone with experience breeding dogs that could let me know what to expect would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My 4 month year old Pomeranian puppy has been breathing and coughing weird. He has been breathing really hard and when he coughs it's as if he has something stuck in his throat. I've heard about Kennel Cough and told my dad about that. I'm only 13, so i'm not sure what will happen. Me and my dad thought that this would go away , but i don't seem sure unless we do something about it. He doesn't cough or breathe heavily alll the time, probably just once a day. He seem's fine when he play's. My dad seems to think that he doesn't need to go to the vet, but this thing has been happening all week or two weeks(I'm not even sure). I mean some day's he's okay, and then he gets it again.

Hi. I found the Schnauzer like 3 months ago...took care of her..vaccinated..walk her every night from 7:30 to 8 - 8:30.
Everything is good but i have a huuuge problem !
Everytime i go through my neighborhood to walk her, whenever she hears other dogs barking she starts barking like CRAZY ! and its so loud and annoying and she won't stop. Not to tell you when i encounter other people walking their dogs too..she just runs like crazy and jumps and barks like she's about to eat the other dog even though the other dog is 4 times larger than her. And it's just annoying and embarrassing ..if you know what i mean..because my dog does all the barking and jumping...the other dog just looks at her. Whenever she starts barking i try to pull harder on the leash towards me and yell " no " but that doesnt work at all. I'm sure slapping her wouldn't do much either..

So please help me make my dog walks calm and relaxing like they should be.
thank you much!

Usually within the 1st hour of being left alone. Don't know what to do and can't bare giving him up. PLEASE HELP!

We just got 2 miniature dachshund puppies. We got the female 2 weeks ago and got the male 2 days ago. The female is being really rough and picking on the smaller puppy. We can't tell if she's being mean or just trying to play way too rough with him. She bites at his neck and ears really hard until he yelps and pins him to the ground. He tries to bite back and growls and stuff, but he's much smaller and kind of sick from parasites.( lousy breeder...long story). Will the puppies start getting along and enjoy being together, or are we doomed?

Ok i know theres allot of breeds, like english mastiff, bullmastiff, dogo argentino, american bulldog and allot more that can kill a wolf, but now, which dog is taller. I think wolfs are no bigger then german shepherds, right? German shepherds stand 24 - 26 inches and weigt 75 - 140 pounds. But now i know for sure english mastiffs, irish wolfhounds, and great danes have to be taller, please let me know if im right. I know that the tallest is irish wolfhound then borzoi and another breed then great dane then english mastiffs, i also know that 60 % of english mastiffs get bigger then danes height whise, and ALWAYS weight whise, cuz there the heaviest dog breed, but thats besides the point. HOW TALL DOES A MATURE GREY WOLF GET?

My lab/rott/golden mix has hip dysplasia and I'm noticing that she has more and more pain everyday. She doesn't play anymore and lays around all the time. When she walks you can just see all the muscles tighten up in her thighs to support her weight. I feel so bad. I am a college student and our funds are really tight so I don't have the money to spend on meds that are very expensive each month. What would you guys do?? Is it to drastic to be thinking about putting her down before she is in so much pain that she can't move?? What should I do??

My mom has to spend 2 months in a short term care facility for an infection. Her 2 dogs do not like mine, and I have 4 dogs anyway.

My uncle lives next door to my mom and walks them (well, he just let's them outside to run in the yard). I don't know if I like this idea since she'll be gone for 2 months. They won't have anyone to sleep or play with. Are there any other options?

I recently rescued a st bernard aged 2 from the local dog sanctuary. Ive had her for nearly 5weeks, she is a joy to be around but i took her for check up at the vets and he said that she is roughly 7wks pregnant. She obviously hasnt got pregnant while i have had her as i havent had her long enough so i contacted the dog rescue and they said oh she must have fallen pregnant by the OTHER st bernard she was staying with (they claim that they thought he had had the snip)!!! They said they will take her back but i lose all the money i paid for her but now we love her as our family pet. I'd like to know what should i do, what can i do, what do i do with puppies, do they need 24hour care etc so they dont get squashed or can she have they puppies and i seperate them and feed them please help, im a bit gutted by the whole situation, ps she will certainly be visiting the vets after the puppies to get neutured / spayed. thanks x

The dog that I am talking about is a black labrador, I have a female german shepard that is fixed that so he could get his rocks off with her, but he doesn't. Is there a type of spray that I can get to put on the female to get him to want her. I don't want to chain my male dog up so he doesn't get out anymore. My fence is secure, but he gets out anyway. Any suggestions will help.

Leona Helmsley, the billonaire, died last week. She left $12 million dollars to her dog ... the grandchildren got $5 million.

What's your opinion on that? If you had all that money, in your will, would you leave it all to your dog, or your family?

I wonder why the most irresponsible idiots in the world who own Pitbulls or mixes get mad and defensive when an intellegent member of the educated veterinary community tries to educate and inform them on their breeds specific issues and how to diminish the negativity surrounding their pets. I've noticed all the answers to Pit related questions that have proven scientific evidence to back up their statements get a thumbs down. You get the same ignorant type responses when you ask welfare recipients about giving up benefits in exchange for training and job placement assistance. Who would be willing to bet these hoseholds are one and the same??? I mean absolutely NO OFFENSE to the INTELLEGENT & RESPONSIBLE breeders, supporters, and owners of Pitbulls and Pit mixes. But the idiots are the ones that instigate the problems for these dogs and make it harder for the good people to make any progress in stopping the hatred. If you answer in stupidity and hatred you still don't get it!
