Your puppy, needs to get to the vet, and have the proper tests run. You need to make sure, that it does have low blood sugar and not some other problem. Being it's a Chihuahua, and that it's only 10 weeks old, it is very dangerous for the puppy, if you don't get the proper treatment and fast. This is nothing to mess with! Don't ever self-treat or self-medicate your dog without the vet telling you to or knowing, that you are medicating your dog!You may unitentionally, do more harm than good. Good Luck!

check with your vet as this may be an underlying problem you don't wan to miss..my yorkie had a liver shunt that required surgery.. but the hypoglycemia was the part give away, the 2nd was he was 6yrs old when it started not just puppy low blood sugar in the toy breeds is common...feed 3 small meals daily. take your average amount fed and split into 3 so not to over feed. keep karosyrup in the house if blood sugar does get too low and give it a teaspoon or so to bring him back then feed a normal snack. you will know it is low as your dog will stagger around as though hes had a few drinks or worse you may find him unresponsive(put karo syrup with your finger under his tongue and get him straight to your vet as this is critical and they can die.

Karo syrup, honey or best choice NUTRICAL will bring a pup out of low sugar episode unless it has dropped too low and gone into shock. I keep NUTRICAL on hand. It is a high calorie vitamin/mineral supplement that you can get from a vet or pet store. Give it just a couple of little dabs and it should pullright out of it. We recently had a little one that his sugar would always drop down low overnight. We would find him early morning, limp. After giving the Nutrical, he would perk right up and be running around in 5 minutes. We had to start feeding him canned puppt food about 10:00 p.m and give him NUTRICAL and some more canned food in the morning(about 4:00 a.m.) After a couple of days he was doing fine. Nutrical really is the best unless you just don't have it when you need it. If you try the syrup, honey or NUTRICAL and it doesn't help, it may be something else. Also chihuahua pups should always be free fed until about 2 lb or 4 months old. Food should be in front of them all the time, except at bedtime til morning.

Without a diagnosis from a vet, I don't know why you think your puppy has low blood sugar. Is it because he/she is sleeping too much? If that's the case, it probably isn't getting enough food, or being fed often enough. Puppies use up a lot of energy, so they need to eat a GOOD PUPPY food, and often. If you'll give it a "taste" of sugar (just on the tip of it's tongue", you might see it "perk up" for awhile. But, the MOST IMPORTANT thing to do is......make sure it's getting enough to eat! Good luck........

This is the hazard of a backyard breeder selling a puppy too young to someone who she has not adequately educated regarding the problems of its breed/age.
1. Ask the breeder
2. Contact the local Chihuahua club
3. Talk to the vet

I am assuming that you haven't yet taken your dog to the vet, right? It could be that your dog is not hypoglycemic, it could be hypocalcimic, can show the same symptoms and can kill just as fast...and it isn't a pleasant way to go, so I would definitely urge you to keep a good record of how your puppy is acting, eating, drinking, sleeping, etc and get her to a vet asap, there could be so many other things going on as well....worms can do one heck of a lot of damage to a small puppy. You didn't mention if your puppy has had it's shots or been wormed, but all of that is equally important, so be sure and let your vet know everything...good luck

Only a vet can give you a proper diagnosis. There are different types of blood sugar problems. Some that can be cured with a diet others that need medication. Take the dog to the doctor and follow their advice to a T.

We have a two-month-old Pomeranian and at her first vet visit they recommended keeping a tube of Nutri-Cal on hand for low blood sugar episodes since this is common in toy/small breeds.

FYI, Toy breeds should not leave the litter till they are over 12 weeks old. Under 12 weeks are quite fragile.
http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_toy_breed_hypoglycemia.html
The main thing is to avoid it in the first place. feed small meals at least 3x daily. Also keep Nutrical on hand or another supplement.
Go to the vet if your pup is having problems ! They can die from this.

Feed it every 2-3 hours. Keep food available at all times. Don't let the blood sugar get low or she could die.
