I have 2 now pro-cons in getting no3

My puppy was 6 1/2 weeks old when she received her first round of vaccinations on 8/8 (recommended schedule is 6/8 weeks). I would like to wait until 9/11 to have her second round when she will be 11 1/2 weeks old (recommended is 10-12 weeks). Everything I have seen suggests getting these shots every 3 weeks until the 3 rounds are completed but as long as she is in the recommended age range is it ok to wait the 5 weeks for her second set?

Also I am confused as far as the distemper shot goes. Is adenovirus 2, parainfluenza, parvovirus, and coronavirus all part of the distemper shot or are they individual?

I have done research about Dalmatians and would really like to adopt one. I have a little Maltese dog, a rabbit, 2 guinea pigs, and 2 rats that all get along together. My maltese, Kayti is very loving to them and would never hurt them. Would a dalmatian be okay around them or would she/he attack them? Would she/he be a good playmate for a little dog?

About 50 years ago, L. David Mech and others observed the interaction of wolves in their packs. Part of their scientific observation was discussions of alpha dominance in the packs.

Various people then took these ideas and applied them to dog behavior.

Since then MANY scientists, and the original observers, have come out and proven that these ideas are NOT appropriate when it comes to DOG behavior. One of their arguments, if this were true, we should be able to apply the behavior of apes to humans.

Due to a certain TV personality, these methods are enjoying a resurgence. Unscientifically, I've noticed that these methods are especially touted by the macho part of our society.

So, is this simply an excuse to rationalize abuse, or is there any SCIENCE behind any of this? If you think it's science, please give me one or two SCIENTISTS so I can read their work.

I have a little over a year Mini Schnauzer, She's never been sick before, and I really don't have the money to take her to the Vet at the moment... For about 4 days now she keeps throwing up and acting sickly, Each time she drinks a little later she will throw up, She won't hardly eat or do anything but rest and sleep... I don't know if she ate something that made her sick or got a hold of bad Dog Food or Treats... If anyone knows anything about this please help. Thanks.

I ask this because of a respect for other pets and people that I have seen arise in some of the questions. I think this will give me a great view on those that respect the public and those that don't. Some of you will actually know and understand what I am talking about.

My dog is getting spayed as I write. The vet told me this morning that she will be going home with the lampshade collar and she has to wear it for 10 days until the stitches are removed. I can't see my dog willingly wearing this. Has anyone dealt with this before and have any advice?

This dog has displayed some aggression toward small children (nipping, one time biting a hand, but not breaking the skin). If I let the new owner know about this and give full disclosure, can the owner come back and sue me if anything happens once they take the dog? I'm in the process of giving the dog away and I am concerned that if anything happens in the future with this dog, I'll get sued.

I'm not sure if I can cause i live in NYC and does every city have a rule or law for Pet Co. that we can bring and not bring dogs.

I've never tried bringing my dog cause i was afraid I might get rejected and be in the streets for no reason.

And also because i have a big dogs like Samoyed, Golden Retriever.

Can anyone tell me or show me proof that i can bring my dog to Pet Co., it wouldn't be right going in there without my dog if peopel knew what i meant.

Hello,

I just got a new puppy last weekend and she is from the humane society. She is a very sweet dog and is definitely not dominant. Yesterday, she broke out of her enclosed room (dont ask how) learned how to climb up stairs, jumped up on my bed and urinated on my pillow, and just the one I sleep on... Ive heard of submissive urination, but Im afraid this is not that. What are your thoughts? was this a freak accident, or her trying to tell me something? I had left her alone to go to work for a few hours btw. I figured it might be separation anxiety or something, but where is the logic in that?

Have you seen The Sun newspaper today?
There is a picture of a Chow Chow dog which has had it's fur dyed to look like a panda.

Do you think this is animal cruelty?

im getting a puppy soon but i havent decided where to get one. i was thinking of rescueing one because they need a home but im worried if my puppy will be sick in some way or have a bad temper from lack of human contact or past experiences with people. dog breeders will have puppies that were raised with a family and well taking care of but those puppies will always find a home no matter what. i cant decide what to do
