Every dog is different. My mother's dog goes out two times a day. In the morning and at night. That is it. I am not sure what your asking. Younger dogs have to go more then an older dog. IF a dog has to go out and can't he will use the floor.

My dog is home alone for 9 hours, mon-fri, no doggie door or anything. It took him a while to get house trained, but now he is great. No accidents... When I get home from work, I immediately bring him out side to pee/play. He loves it. He's there to greet me every time.

In the beginning, if he had an accident, I'd show him, put his nose in it, and we wouldnt go outside immediatly, expecially to play.

If there werent any accidents, we would go right out side, before I even set foot in the house. He'd do his business, and we would play fetch, and he would be praised. He has been accident free for about 2 months now...

I worked with animals for 15 years and have seen a lot of dogs hold their potty needs for hours. It was amazing on how long they could hold it. Each dog is different, and has different potty needs. People can be so mean and cruel to others that honestly don't know what to do. There isn't any need for that. Thank you...........

Look at it this way. Next time YOU or YOUR DAD has to pee. Don't, see how long you can hold before you wet your pants. And so now you know how it is for your dog. This also applies to babies & young children. So if your pet or child has an accident. Have a little patience and look at it from their point of view.
