My dog, breed Jack Russell... He is the most active dog i've seen. Whenever i bring him for a walk, I end up running... He is so naughty, he bark at the slightest movement. He only listens to my father.. Is it true that dogs have a favourite family member that he likes and listen to?

My dog gets jelous of my 8 year old. He gets jelous of my tv watching and many things. I brought the baby home, and he stood back and wathced us all for one day. And since the second day home he realized the baby is a 'people' and he will lay with him on the bed like he does with us. He will lick him like he does to us. BUT he never gets jelous of the baby, like he does with older kids (he is great with kids, but want me all to himself)... but he is ok with sharing me with the baby. Why???

She tried to bite my 8 month old son. I know that when a dog bites a child they should be put down, but does just trying to bite deserve the same thing? Here's what happened, when my son crawls too close to my dog she'll growl at him and show her teeth. This has been going on for about a week so we've been trying to find her a new home. Today I was sitting on the floor petting her and my son crawled up. I moved her out of the way (which is the only reason she didn't get him) and she still tried to bite him. I don't know if I should just keep on trying to rehome her or get her put down. The last thing I want is her biting my son or some other person/child.

My little brother has been feeding the dog regular human food and he makes this growling noise at night like he has tummy ache or something. I've only had the dog for a little over a month and its a miniature schnauzer...

I care about her more than any of the people in my life. I would be more upset by her passing than any one person's. That's bad isn't it?

I personally own 3 adults and am selling puppies, and I adore all of them. If I could keep the pups I would. They are a beautiful breed and its unfortunate that they have such a bad rep. I was raised around them and have 3 daughters who are being raised around them and love to play and ride our dogs. I just think its sad the way people have to fear them because of all the a$$holes out there that mistreat, misuse, abuse, and fight them. Anyways, I am kinda fed up with all the bad news that you hear about them and just wanted some other positive opinions that may still be out there!

I just got a show dog friday. He's a Basenji and he's almost 8 months. I'm not able to teach him to sit because show dogs shouldnt learn this command because they would be sitting during their inspection. So, how can I teach him to stay without him sitting?

Been bitten by the dog at the end of the street.

He was out playing and when he was running the dog jumped up on him and then bit him on the top of his leg. The skin is broken where the dogs tooth went in and he has a graze at the side. I am just waiting for the police to come and the nhs 24 to call back so that I know if he needs a tetanus,

will the police ask me if I want the dog to be put down or will they put it down anyway. The dog has bitten other kids before but I don't think anyone reported it. the dog terrorises strangers thet come to visit people who live in the street.

I am not anti dog as I have a dog myself but I never let my dog out in the street unless I am with him and he is well trained (no classes) but the dog who bit my son is left outside daily and shlts all over the street and they dont clean up after it

(Wo)Men say dogs are their best friends.
What would dogs say to that ? Being made to wear a collar, a muzzle, a leash, do tricks, play silly games, go hungry and always waiting for scraps of food.....etcetera
