Hi everybody.I own a 3 month old staffy called Amy and I was wondering if she became overtired can it cause any problems e.g. illness or long term damage to the pup itself.

I have a 13 and a half year old miniature poodle. I've had her since she was 8 weeks old. Up until last week she has never had an accident in the house ever. Twice last week while we were not home she had accidents. She drinks a lot of water during the night. My father was suggesting that before we go to sleep we should maybe put the water bowl up on the sink for night and then put it back down in the morning so she isn't drinking a lot all night. I feel that is mean to do to the dog but do you think it might help? Maybe she won't have any more accidents?

could u still be a dog person even if u have a cat. i have a cat but i've always been a big dog person. my mom is more of a cat person. i think dogs are a lot better. they're more active and playful. more attention than a cat. but i still like dogs.

ok i know that michael vick's action were bad he did some horible things like killing dog that didnt perform to their or his expectetions but what i dont understand is why is he getting punished so badly. I dont agree whit the indefenite suspension he did nothing against the nfl. he is getting badly punish as it is whit jail time and them taking his 22 million dlls that the falcons had already paid him. I think he earned that money playing whit the team this past years so he deserves to keep it he should probably be suspended from the nfl some games or a year i least that what i think so let me know what you think about this situation...............

My sons 7 and 10 really want a dog. I love dogs too but not sure if i should get one. Everyone says that they are a tie. I think it would be great for my youngest especially. I don't mind the walking even in bad weather. I just don't want to rush into it. What do you think. And if I do, what type of dog shall I get? Thanks in advance.

I once heard that carrots were a good treat for dogs, especially breeds prone to being overweight. Are there any treats out there like this?

I have a 3 yo sheltie. Everytime we leave the house, he tries to stop us by barking and wanting to follow. Immediately after we are gone, he charges straight to the trash bin in the kitchen and knocks it over, throwing all the trash in the kitchen. I wld always take the bin and put it up on the sink and at times i forgot.

I cannot leave food on the kitchen counter. He wld take it down and eats it with my other old dog. I hv occassionally lost a few pounds of meat, loaves of bread etc, left on the counter to thaw and leftovers which i left to cool before i put in the refrigerator.

He really gets on my nerves and i am losing my patience. My husband wld get upset with me for losing my patience but not with the dog. He said he is normal.

Please tell me if you have any suggestion.

I took my dogs for a walk last week. One is a pure breed show dog. He is intact for breeding purposes. My dogs were on leash. He was peeing on a fence, when I was getting the other dog to the side of the road, as a car was coming. I turned to look at the other and he was mounted on an unleashed female. Long story short I was unable to get him off of her before they consumated the act. The lady who owns the dog freaked out. She started yelling so that all the neighbors came out. She claims I have no right walking my dog if he is intact. (She also claims that pit bulls will attack me if I walk him-- I believe she is a sick lady). I believe she was in the wrong for letting an intact female roam loose. Who is in the wrong here?

I have always heard when I was younger, that if you neutered a male dog before his first mating, it would make him mean. I love my dog but I need to neuter him because we will be living full time in a motor home and traveling a lot and I do not want the risk of him running away and getting in an accident or becoming lost. I understand they become more stay at home dogs after neutering. Any help would be appreciated. ~desertrat

I Share my dog with my friend. My friend brought her, and I look after her when my friend is at work.

The trouble is, we both live at different houses, and my dog lives at my friends house all the time (because my friend did pay for her) and My friend wont let the puppy sleep on a bed because she says there is no need. So my dog has to sleep on the cold, hard concrete, and when it rains she sniffles and cries.

My friend is very kind, but just dose not see how cruel it is. How do I tell her that it is cruel without her banning me from seeing the puppy?

My dog had puppies 4 weeks ago. She has stopped feeding them, and I have to force her to feed when I am home. I tried puppy formula, and I tried soaking puppy food in puppy formula. My only real issue is that they don't have teeth yet. One of them shakes a lot, and is losing weight but the only time he will eat is from her. I've done the whole puppy thing before, but my other dog didn't refuse to feed them until after they had teeth.

My 15 year old picked up her cat, and when it meowed the dog came sprinting down the hall. So my daughter started jogging so she could beat the dog to the stairs. The dog went running across the stair opening right as my daughter ran across to the stairs and her knees hit the dog by her rib cage, and the dog fell over one step into our living room and may have hit the chair and a table. She got up wimpering and she whined for almost five minutes before she stopped. When I had her get up to walk, she was fine, but I'm afraid I might be missing something. Please help me, I need to know if she may have hurt something internally
