Hi everybody.I own a 3 month old staffy called Amy and I was wondering if she became overtired can it cause any problems e.g. illness or long term damage to the pup itself.

Over tired like in exercises or sleepy? Neither is good for it. But you can cause joint damage in a dog that is over exercised.

Most pup's sleep a lot in their younger years, til they reach their first year. Pups need a place where they can nap and sleep undisturbed from family's activities and noisy children.
However, if your pup is overly tired, it could be it does not get adequatley nutrition. And believe me, with the dog food recall now a day's it's a rather scarey thing. Find your self, a trust worthy Veterinarian. You can bring her in for a check-up. He know' s probably whats going on. A vitamine deficiency could also be the case for the pups tiredness. A lack of iron in his bloo d could show that too. Ask your vet to screen it just to be on the safe side. Long time dog owner.Greetings from Utah

It's not good for a pup to be over-tired. Walks should be 10 - 15 minutes max, several times a day. Play time should be about the same, with frequent breaks if she shows signs of fatigue. Forcing her to run for long periods of time (i.e. more than a few minutes without rest) or to jump frequently at her age will likely cause joint problems as she gets older. Short-term problems can include anxiety, grumpiness, lack of enthusiasm. Puppies her age need short, frequent play/walk times and lots of rest.

Yes ,if she is over tired because she has been running around a lot , over stressed muscles and ligament can easily tear especially in pups who are growing rapidly , If she is over tired in the HEAT she will be more prone to heat stoke {deadly for dogs}
Exercise is good for pups just never over due anything and pups do require a LOT of sleep. just like human babies .
