Looks like an American Pit Bull Terrier. All those back yard breeders and puppy mills are breeding just to breed and make money, not breeding to the standard. So that is how we get so many dogs that are bigger or smaller than the standard.

I went to an AKC dog show and the Chow Chows are small-medium sized! Thats how they are supposed to be, not the size of Labradors or larger!

You'd really have to put more of a description like is it full grown, height weight, short-cut tail or long-cut tail... But in my opinion, it look's like a mastiff, boxer mix... and you should have a side view photo of it...

it looks like a mix of stafford shire bull terrier, pit bull, bull mastiff... something along those lines i think.
